Pretty much, ya. Only flagged only for the luck is a thing yup.
And real PvP centric rewards. You know what PvP players need? Potions, ammo, repair kits… You know what they don’t need? Luck bonuses for gathering…
Wrong. It is not a real PVP. We have people in PVP gear flexing on guys trying to do PVE a bit faster because PVP rewards for looting/gathering are way too good unless you are a bot.
Are you really trying to get a system that encourages players to CAMP others in pvp and reward them for it ?
and reward crates for pvp kill does not work since people will just exploit it by swaping kills.
Another poster suggested potion drops, ammunition and etc.
My suggestion would be something similar to the aptitude chest where there are 3 tiers depending on how you performed. The more deaths you’ll have the lower your rank would be and your tier will go down accordingly (losing 1 aptitude rank). It will also be increasingly difficult to rank up the more consecutive deaths you have in PVP. Killing also non-unique players (same player multiple times) would result in even worse rewards. You can only kill the same player up to 3x any more would result in less aptitude gains and less valuable drops. At best would be 1x weak health potion. Also the rewards are limited per day. This ought to disincentive kill trading.
These are just suggestions off the top of my head and haven’t really fleshed out, if you have any other things you’d like to suggest feel free to do so.
If anything the incentive should be INCREASED +gathering yield for example.
The gathering pvp change came in before aptitude chests came in. Now that they’re in people are no longer flagging.
I agree there should be more incentives for open-world pvp, but it has to be the right incentives.
If we are to add gathering yield, honestly who would use it more? PVE gatherers or the PVP players? Like the current flagged bonuses it’s all a band-aid fix to the lack of content. It doesn’t bring people to flag and fight other people in the overworld, instead it makes them farm more and avoid conflict to maximize farming time. This is not a good incentive for PVP driven features.
Oh, I’ve heard it time and time again. The problem isn’t that they’re pro-PvE; It’s that they’re anti-PvP. Which is batshit insane considering this game has always advertised as having strong PvP elements since day 0. Won’t stop themepark MMO kids from crying though. Most PvP players will happily engage in well designed PvE activities as well.
It actually worked, until they added aptitude chests which overshadowed any luck bonuses altogether. Flagged bonuses were added because staying unflagged was the most rewarding way to farm. For the brief period between the flagging bonus and aptitude chests, being flagged was the most rewarding way to farm. Then after aptitude, being unflagged returned to being the most efficient farming method because it could go uninterrupted.
Nothing was denied unflagged players, you just weren’t the most rewarded, and that made people like you very angry (much like taxes). The idea that someone has more than you by participating in something you don’t approve of just absolutely eats you up.
You have just acknowledged that unflagged players have the advantage in farming. Nothing is forced.
It’s insane that people still have a grudge against flagged bonuses despite no inherent logic behind their arguments.
Words of a true keyboard warrior. Sure as hell impressed me. /sarcasm off
It actually did not. Not even for a single nano-second from the time the ill-conceived carrot was dangled till now did any more people that don’t give a flying f about pvp suddenly change their mind and willfully offer themselves as easy targets to chest thumpers like yourself. There are still the same small number that flag to gather now that there were before the aptitude boxes.
It’s logical that people have a “grudge” against pvp flagging bonuses because it’s simple stupidity to give bonuses to pve gathering for pvp flagging. Everyone who realizes this fact has no issue with you being given bonuses that grant actual pvp items and buffs for your flagging efforts. We do not appreciate carrots dangled in our faces so we can be easy targets to immature children that get off harassing others in video games! We also do not appreciate being left out of bonuses and buffs that are pve centric just because we choose not to engage in pvp activities in this game because of the grossly toxic nature of it and the overall immaturity of many who do.
now think about PvP only players that have to go trough PvE content to get their BIS items.
Everyone is mad about something, just enjoy every part the game is offering you, but dont bash people that are enjoing parts that you dont like.
Not all PvP players are toxic, even PvE players are toxic, stop generalizing.
I’m blown away by this, yeah. What’s so wrong with it? Unflag if you don’t like being mangled.
Drops were implemented long before the flagged bonus, why do people act like the bonus is the only way you’ll get any loot?
Gathering in NW is nearest a PvP activity than PvE activity, even if you’re unflagged : nodes are unique and by definition you’ll be in competition with other players. So you can choose the easy way, stay unflagged and farming in peace or the risky way : being flagged, fighting to death for your node, and being rewarded if you win. More risk, more reward
Consider that you are not the target of this bonus and that it is not a carrot for you, but a way to reward PvP players who also like farming & crafting
You have been really toxic and contemptuous against the PvP community since the start, time to calm down and being credible when you’re talking about maturity and toxicty
Because of the over the top convoluted luck system with nested RNG’s with extreme ranges…it pretty much is!
Actually by your definition you’re being ‘really toxic’ towards me. If you can’t handle facts and choose to assign the cliché toxic word to them that’s a you problem dude.
So the issue is that luck is fundamentally broken, not that there’s a flag bonus…
Luck is indeed a problem. That however does not excuse them from omitting me and others that don’t wish to be someone elses cheap content from extra pve gathering bonuses.
your lack of understanding here precludes your offering a useful opinion; the bonus exists so that PvP players can recieve the same bonus as PvEers in harvesting/luck gear… that’s all.
The thing is, a flagged player in gathering gear is just a target. At the very least, unflagged, your gathering gear doesn’t do much damage to you.
All the bonus was meant to do was include players who would otherwise be strapped for vectors for luck being that they’re flagged (and who the hell wants to annul an entire avenue of play just because AG can’t wrangle their own mechanics?), and so taking it away is just un-solving the problem it addressed.
Remove the luck, and flagging goes back to being an exclusion from getting loot, basically-- because as you said, if you’re flagged in gathering gear you’re basically someone else’s cheap content.
Your lack of common sense is simply amazing. If you believe for a second that was the reason for implementing that bonus I truly feel sorry for you.
