Remove gold from teritory owning

I didn’t say BIS. I said resilient + weapon perk.

You do not get to win just because you paid for the game. Get good at it.

pick up that phone

because i called it

You’re bad at the game and want to moan about not getting handed rewards for being the worse player? Pretty cringe. Anyone respectable goes off, learns, improves on their play and comes back stronger. But you want this all thrown away just because you’re not competitive? You’re deranged.

did you read anything i said?

if you think competitiveness is the cause of this games death → well, your just as blind as the developers

Wrong post?

something something elitism something something getgud.

You said you agree and then you’re right back to like ‘see told you so’ as if what I’m saying is wrong. It’s something to compete over. People should not be trying to ruin the competitive side to this game just because they’re not good enough themselves. It’s extremely selfish to try remove an entire aspect of the game just because they cannot perform themselves.

Having BiS gear and those extra 3rd perks because your company can afford to buy up all the BiS pieces is like a 15-20% numerical boost across the board.

Now add that per player 50 x 15% giving you a 750% power boost over the enemy team.

With lifestealing and those perks you lose the melee trade every time man. ffs you can’t even block and counter anymore it’s just spam AoE and bomb.

Where a more geared team, short of a composition failure, positioning failure / picks on healers. No under geared team really stands a chance head to head. The healing values are better everything is just that little bit better making you lose the trade.

As most maps are just head to head fights with little cover, flanking serves little to no purpose short of the odd musket team.

The whole taxation system is bogus and some servers are so dead they can’t even afford to keep one town fully upgraded. True mess of a system.

The ELO system @Ghaunr said is probably the best bet to allow all players to partake in the content.

Cities should auto upgrade after a set time on server launch - if you control a city you get the resource cache and they could make upgrades to the resource cache so that it has more goodies that make town ownership worth it as well as a source of guild pride/bragging rights on the individual server level and have the auto que instanced matchmaking system so EVERYONE can partake in war content.

So answer this question

2 players both equal skill but one has the better gear who wins in a mirror match up?

Specifically on the melee level where the foundation of frontline and point control combat takes place.

The person with better gear will win.

Why? Because with the removal of stagger it all comes down to trading blows like WoW at the core.

You might get the cheeky block/counter off but this game’s combat is a far far cry from original alpha combat where the real high skill cap players were embarrassing players with wooden swords and. trash gear. You simply cannot do that anymore because the combo systems were gutted from this game.

ye no one mentions that for servers that were ‘new’ or low pop that they cant afford to upgrade towns because the tax is dependent on player numbers - i can imagine servers peak at sub 200 probably cant have very many if any t5 tables

depends. better gear as in directly countering their build (full shirking fort or full freedom vs like refreshing)

because 9/10 times its over because one person lands the start of their burst combo. and outside of full freedom or full stacks of fortification it wont matter as much. full refreshing gives you a little extra chances at getting another combo off.

thats about it.

That’s my point, a game without reliable combo systems that becomes zerg versus zerg combat comes down to who nukes who first unless you make tanks viable and able to counter play the burst .

New World tanks are not there yet and your best bet is eating a gravity well with ironically a great axe.

the games combat depth became incredibly shallow and comes down to who bursts who first or can reliably win the trade by kiting or becomes fucking Normandy in WW2 either way shoot or be shot first and win, nuke or nuke first and win.

Then the ball fight occurs, and healers are in the mix and whoever heals the trade more wins, where as before melee combat had much more depth. rhythm, tempo and emphasis on blocking and defensive counterplay to land your combo very much like a fighting game.

i mean yeah iv been advocating for better more indepth and meaningful combat for a while now.

but in context of current game and gold inequality thats less relevant.

right now you can make do with partial gear or purple gear. and those ones are relatively affordable.

sure you can make do, but the barrier to entry and power gap is a fact.

pitting a team of 50 players versus 50 and all of them have that 3rd perk per piece of gear is a huge fucking deal and is felt

Yeah your right. New World’s territory system has the same problem as the champions league (most important football/soccer tournament on a club level in europe).

  • Only the best teams from each countrys league can participate

  • Payout is HUGE, even if a team only manages to qualify

  • this leads to the richer clubs getting richer, buying the best players, having the best roster, personnel, infrastructure, youth development

  • in almost every league with very few exceptions, always the same 2-3 teams are winning the championchip and/or qualify for champions league

  • always the same few teams qualify, always the same few teams win the champions league

  • the rich getting richer, small clubs have no chance at winning

Its a sad circle for a sport which originally was structured to be fair. Contrary to other countrys sports theoretically your unprofessional village town can make it to the champions league. Reality is different.

I used to believe that there wasn’t really much of a gear-gap as lot of people believed and that it was all up to skill until I fought someone who had a full-set of PVP perks with resilience. At this time I was wearing a full-heavy VB.

We duelled multiple times and I was completely defeated. I won a couple of times but most of the time it felt like I was dealing no damage against him, the most game changing weapon perk he had on his armor was the fortifying perofrate. I can’t trade blows with him with my GA and he outdamages me everytime. It was at that time I realized you really need weapon perks and VB can only carry you so far.

VB is a PvE Armor and you still could win. So that gap is there but its not THAT huge if we are being honest. Yes you have sweat way more than he does but well thats just how it is lol

id sort of disagree a bit.

in any professional sport. you team doesn’t get to have special gear privileges you all play with regulation gear. regulation balls and equipment. the only thing that is different between the teams is the skills of the individual players and the coach that directs it all. one team doesn’t get to go on the field with the latest state of the art shirts with +1 defense and +10 to sweat mitigation.

this is how it works in Esports as well everyone starts off equal in CS:GO what differs is the in round buys and economy.

in APEX: you all start out naked besides team comps that everyone can chose and isnt limited.

etc

This is so true, that’s why this game isn’t a good PVP game imo. It’s fun to kill people around but if we’re talking about skills in PVP there are other games that are better examples like LoL, HotS, Valorant, CS:GO, Starcraft etc.
