True it was actually busted and stay busted for a while.
I just mean that they knew to nerf FS/IG when it came out so at least use the same logic for the GS
I love the GS but there are some tuning that needs to be done. The most obvious to me is that skyward slash applies rend and disease even if it gets blocked. That seems wrong to me.
Honestly, yes, greatsword is strong AF right now and it deserves a nerf, i’ll not argue about that.
But what enables this crazy ammount of damage is the fact that most people are running hatchet along with it, and the immortality is just insanely strong i don’t even know why is that in the game.
GS is strong so nerf Hatchet even though nothing changed about Hatchet other than it already receiving a nerf a week ago. Got it. Makes sense.

yea and it got nerfed within 4 weeks. Massive nerfs. lowered shrapnel damage, lowered pellet count, lowered blast shot damage, added blast shot delay, roll in claw shot, list goes on and on my friend. I do believe gs is being treated with less nerfs as it is very easy to use and everyone can make use of its opness. There isnt nearly as many complaints as there was with the blunder which is crazy considering the heavys alone one shot players
GS is stupid and the best way to counter it right now is picking it up yourself.
Since 95% of the GS playerbase is trash as long as you have half a neuron you’d be beating them becouse you are using the same weapon.
Other than that we can just wait for nerfs of they ever come

I personally do not have an issue with it being in the game. I have never used it and will never use it in it’s current state for one sole reason. It is an ugly way oversized item.

You guys are silly. A single heavy is not enough to 1 shot someone even in light armor. I’m not arguing that the weapon doesn’t need tuning but there’s some very exaggerated claims going around here. I guess I should expect that in a thread called “remove the greatsword from the game”

Yeah in fact Whelps went 5 con and tried everything to get damage as high as a bow heavy headshot (which can 1 shot light under geared players) and wasn’t able to get any 1 shots. Kind of close on low con muskets but still no 1 shot.

Remove it, nerf it, change the perks, frankly all of it makes sense to me.
I think what bothers me is that AGS has an (not communicated) intention for each weapon, they have mentioned that it is ok in their mind that musket shines in PvP but is hardly used in PvE.
What is the spot they envision each weapon being used? LS and VG, ok fine. Healing and support healing.
Hatchet is insanely good with the invul and insane damage, but Hatchet is not equivalent to Sword and Shield, why? Spear is not as good as Hatchet, why? Currently, neither is a good as GS. Why? What’s the plan? Why is it set up this way?
Why introduce a weapon that suddenly outshines any other weapon in the game currently? To bring players back for a month?
It’s the same as everything else in the game, AGS puts something in the game, without a lot of intention communicated to the player base. It feels like it is all over the place, but I guess to them it makes sense. The GS is just the latest example, “toss another log onto the fire”.
remove all weapons from the game, let’s make it an empty-handed fighting game!

And while we are at it lets remove the second chances like defy death, riposte and tomb as well shall we ? Course we are all mature enough to accept when we did something stupid and don’t want the game to cover our faults.
Then people would ask for i-frame nerfs when they fight someone better at dodging. This already happens hahaha
