Has some of you, may have notice, I’m a pve player, not a pvp one, but as it’s a subject we were talking about in the french channel, I thought it could be interesting to share it with the none french speakers.
This seems absurd to me doing pve to drop pvp stuff for 2 reasons :
for pve players it’s often a trash loot we will salvage as most of them are bind
for pvp players, it means they need to do pve to get their basic pvp stuff
Al least for me it’s a complete non sense.
PVP player should have a “pvp way” to get their stuff. Maybe you can add pvp stuff in faction vendors with different quality link to the pvp rank of the player, or give chest in arena with only pvp gear in, change the OPR box to not drop randomized items, but items with proper pvp perks.
I don’t know, there might be a lot of ways to do this better.
-pve player doing pve stuff unflaged, dropped pvp gear would be not binded so player can sell it on trading post
-pvp player doing pvp stuff flagged, accidentally (or intentionally) killed a mob and dropped pve gear, should be not binded so player can sell on trading post
This would give both equal chances of profit/gearing without discrimination.
Yeah, I see your point, but pvp player would have to rely on pve players to provide them stuff, that is I think a frustated point for some of them.
And you also have to consider the economic point of this, as we make a lot of gold in expe and mutation, we can afford to pay for stuff, even if most of us don’t buy gear. But I’m not sur that pvp players make that much gold.
This has been beaten to death, revived with goblin jumper cables and beaten to death again.
The changes that were introduced in the summer patch to “Improve Loot” screwed over the PVE players significantly. Resilient is the #1 most common perk with a chance of being rolled it’s nearly twice as common in the perk chances listed on NWDB.info than the wards. Usually around 14% versus 7% for all four wards combined.
Resilient is the most desirable perk on all PVP gear.
Wards are the most desirable perk on all PVE gear.
What should happen is DmgAbsorb perk bucket that Wards are currently in should be split removing all the wards out of that bucket.
A new PvEAbsorb bucket should be created and all four wards moved into it.
Enhance the chance to get a ward or resilience by combining both buckets into a single top level bucket that is 21% chance. When that perk bucket is hit it then has a 50/50 chance to be resilient or one of the four wards. If it’s the wards another roll with equal 25% chance for any of the four.
Additionally, the PVP only perks other than resilience SHOULD be exclusive and not roll on Ward gear. It can roll when there is no resilient or ward but it shouldn’t mix.
If they clean this up so that you don’t end up with hybrid pve/pvp gear it would significantly improve the current system.
This creates a more equitable system where gear is produced at roughly equal rates for PVP and PVE.
This should be applied to all sources where RNG loot is generated unless it’s intended that one or the other type of gear not be generated. Including crafting.
