Remove Ward / Bane

Ward gear and banes serve no purpose other than to waste the players time. Let players chase 1 perfect set of gear but still swap gems weekly for mutations. Chasing 4 sets of PvE gear for ONE ROLE is silly. Oh you want to be a tank? 4 sets of gear. Now you want to try dps? Another 4 sets of gear. This is not a meaningful grind and is disrespecting the players time

Bad take imo. Specialized gear for special situations is part of the min maxing that can make you stand out the to common player. If you give everyone easy access to everything the game becomes dull and there’s no excitement with drops once you have a full set in a week.

I agree with OP. It’s good to have a gear for different situations, but not that differs from each other by one perk.
Managing the same dups of the gear but with one different perk is dull imo.
I would prefer to collect gear for diffrent builds

yeah let’s make game easier/quicker and then complain how little is there to do!

Rule for any mmo. Don’t reward players who invest less time into your game. Reward those who put in the time, effort, sacrifice.

We don’t want the game was easier. I’m sure there may be plenty things to do far more harder or longer, yet more rewarding. Collecting 4 sets of the same gear for one build is simply not one of them. It’s just a lazy extention of endgame

Then have different builds? I’m a mage in one dungeon, a tank in a different, a bow/spear in another, Heavy Melee in the next one, light Melee for the other. Nothing says you have to seek the same build for every dungeon?

Having one set of gear that is universally usable in all situations for a role is even more silly.

Having wards in the current system is equivalent to the gear grind you experience throughout an expansion where you collect multiple sets of tier gear for progressively harder content that requires that power level to achieve success. The primary difference is instead of a particular teir of gear being obsolute once replaced - here you collect multiple sets of gear that are useful only in circumstantial situations.

You still end up with multiple sets of gear you still end up with about the same amount of time spent grinding all that gear. The only real difference is here, we’ve spent all that time for the most part grinding the same exact content over and over instead of being given new content but, then again teir gear for a tier content versus ward gear for content filled with a creature type. I guess it is kind of analagous there too.

It’s kind of like the whole expertise grind everyone whines about. It has a lot of parity with quest gear > Dungeon Gear > Raid Gear > Heroic Gear > Mythic Gear. You just keep the same items the whole time for the most part instead of replacing it each step of the way. It doesn’t take longer in many ways its faster - you just dont “feel” the progression as much, its not as exiciting.
