There are bots that have been going day and night for over 2 weeks.
I see them fishing daily.
I report them daily…
There has been nothing done to any of this bots, in fact they were level 19 when I saw them, they are now around 38 just nonstop fishing.
Run around a few cities and you’ll see random nakeds with no faction level 30+ random names fishing all day. There’s about 7 of them in Restless Shore on my server right now daily as well.
Then there are plenty of actual players you can tell are botting because they didn’t set it up right or something went wrong (many of them are level 60…). They are twitching by the water nonstop, and as I am leveling mining I am having a harder time getting some of the more rare nodes because people are literally sitting on the nodes AFK mining them as soon as they respawn…
I understand that bots happen in every game and its a cat and mouse game to stop them.
But there needs to be more done to investigate them in the game rather than just relying on EAC because it is obviously not working.
We’re very bothered, I’m bothered by enough shit to write you out like seven detailed, unique paragraphs. But the fact is I don’t think the dev team can straddle all the work effectively.
No offense but that seems like a rather lackluster excuse.
It shouldn’t need more data than to realize it is physically impossible to be up that long all day everyday fishing.
I understand what you are getting at but they cannot rely on EAC alone.
They need an in game team actively finding these cheaters, and they need to follow up on reports better.
I work in game development and all the data is there that they should need to put a stop to this.
Player is moving less than 5meters away, sitting for hours, mining one node over and over. Or catching thousands of fish… They just haven’t implemented a system to combat this. More data isn’t the problem.
I agree, they should however have the ability to hire a small team of bot hunters.
I literally run around gathering some items and see bots everywhere… probably more pronounced since I am on a high pop server, but it is a huge problem.
Their execs could probably hire to fix lots of problems, but the issue is these guys want max profits with minimal input.
The devs aren’t being given the tools they need, really. It’s just tragic, because they really do have a great game here. They’re just forbidden from working on it.
