Number 1 thing that HAS to change.
Light armour, there is a reason 99% of the player base is using it and the numbers speak for themselves. You can dodge almost infinitely especially with a rapier and Shirking Energy perk which should have never been on Light armour in the first place. Neither should shirking forti, through those 2 perks + rapier you have created god tier healers who can’t be killed unless everyone in the OPR focus’s them. Shirking energy should be removed from Light armour. Maybe rework the dodges, why does a dodge cost 50 stamina, regardless of which armour you are running, 50 for 1 dodge, 50 for 2nd dodge, 10 for 3rd dodge? How does that even make sense. There should be no reason all 3 armour classes get 3 dodges, 4 if you’re medium dex. La should get 2 dodge rolls, but keep the distances. Medium 3 ( Medium armour is in a good place in my opinion) Heavy armour 4 dodges as the distance is awful and half the time dodge in HA does nothing. Or keep HA the same if its considered OP to have an extra dodge for them. At least, nerf LA dodge. As stated in my previous post, I literally watched a naked user duel a HA user and he won… That should be outright impossible. Maybe tie stamina amount into gear to negate stupid things like that happening.
Heavy armour needs a buff or something, I know you guys said in a dev video that you are looking into it so I wont have much to suggest at the moment as you are already working on it which is nice to know in the first place. I main HA myself and in some cases it feels like I shouldn’t be, I see LA and medium armour users surviving longer than myself in OPR just through spamming shift. When I spam shift in heavy armour, not much happens, maybe there are not enough iframes or something for HA? Maybe heavy needs more defence? I dunno, I have 2.7k phy def when I run heavy SNS and I still get melted faster than LA user or medium half the time and im stood there scratching my head as to why I play heavy lol. All I know is something 100% needs to be changed.
As for DPS in heavy, I have no issue scoring in the top 10 so the damage for heavy is perfect in my eyes and doesn’t require a change.
Maybe shield should have its own separate stamina bar? Again this is up for debate, wouldn’t want any class to end up OP. A lot of the time I find myself having to decide between blocking or dodging. For example Ive blocked 30000 arrows in BowPR then I come to dodge a melee user and oh look, no stamina. Kinda annoying, dunno if anyone would agree that needs work, or that’s just the downside of shield. I could see both points.
Riposte also needs a fix, if I’m tryna kill a rapier user and he riposte’s and I do not attack, but some bow user from 300ft away hits the riposte, I get stunned? Again makes no sense, riposte should only effect who ever initiated the stun and in the case of riposte being hit by a ranged weapon/attack, No one gets stunned.
Also Forti shield rush should not be on round or kite shields, they’re able to negate 90% of damage anyway, without 50% forti which will easily be achievable with the new wep perks.
In summary, the most annoying thing about this game. LIGHT ARMOUR. Its too buffed and seems to be preferred by the game developers. People just run away etc all the time, why join OPR or something, to pvp, but then end up running away from all the pvp. I can’t recall any other mmo where people join to do pvp then end up all running away instead of fighting. And no im not advocating for LA to get smushed, odds are you’d still be able to kite 90% of the damage anyway if a fight happened. I feel the emphasis on dodging and negating damage is too heavily pushed, dodging is fine but this spam dodging is mental. It should be used skillfully to avoid certain attacks and or take others. As it stands, LA users run into a fight, spam skills then roly poly away wait for cooldowns and rinse and repeat, like the assasin builds when they used to miss leaping strike shield bash initiation.
Listen to the forums, there are countless posts or people all asking for the same thing and every patch they just get ignored. Took you guys like 6 months to fix shield stats not working when you weapon swap. Things like this should be priority over new content. Player count drops when players are not happy. Devs listen to players. Player count rise again. I know you guys have your own vision for New World, but so far it aint working. @JetJet
All this is from a HA main users point of view, anyone else feel free to add your suggestions into this topic, without the toxicity please. We all want a fun balanced game at the end of the day.
PS, Remove stagger, game is impossible to play as melee unless you have 300 str for grit, which I do not want.
