So ive come back to the game after a long break, I am finding overwhelmingly that there is a severe resource deficiency problem that favours either 1) bots or 2) no-lifers. There are clearly still bots everywhere, but thats besides the point really, I think the core of this issue comes down to how resources are farmed, node camping basically. So anyway… hear me out here, resource node lockouts.
How it works:
- After you farm a node you cannot farm the same node for several hours, somewhere between 3-6 hrs I would say. Like with elite chests
- The node still despawns after its farmed by a player, but it comes back faster to compensate.
- Only applies to those resources not in absolute abundance (such as regular trees, boulders etc)
Pros:
- Auto gathering bots are now not effective as they would have to travel between areas and deal with much more difficult terrain.
- Node camping no longer a thing.
- The likelihood of nodes being avaliable to passers-by is now significantly higher because bots and node campers cant continuously harvest the same nodes.
- A daily resource run now involves multi zone travel, and much more variance rather than just sitting still or running in a circle.
- More equal distribution of resources between players
