They said the server that the other servers are being merged into would keep it’s current territory but the companies on the incoming servers were to get an amount of gold (it was said in a post 50k, but shown on PTR to only say 15k) to be used to declare war when they choose.
So the largest pop server that other servers are merged with keeps territory, others get cash compensation.
Has there been an update to this situation since they said this?
There would probably be complaints still, some people will remain unsatisfied. In the end of the day its still something that should have been ready since launch. Regardless, being upfront would still be a better option that “we are discussing”.
I like being on low pop server, I get to know most ppl by name and we help each other cross faction in many ways. 180 player peak is maybe too low, but anything above 600 or so seems overpopulated to me.
When I watch some stream on a world with 1500+ players it’s not something Id enjoy.
Great post. And yea it’s wild, I remember on Day 1, fighting queues and finally getting in and starting my journey. I remember thinking “man, there are so many people playing this game, it’s gonna be tough to control a town, hope the company I join can manage to do that!”
I never imagined that my company would be one of barely a few still left on the server and at least trying to maintain stations at Cutlass Keys and Everfall as best we can. The crazy thing is, our population is so low, no one even wants to control undesirable towns. Reekwater on our server is STILL owned by a company that raided treasury coffers and transferred off server IN OCTOBER. I wonder if AGS realizes just how screwed the game is on low pop servers, where towns are literally left to rot. Some MMO.
This is an issue that hasn’t just cropped up now. This was innevitable and the discussions and final decisions on how this is to be handled should have happened before the game went live. If everyone was 100% clear on what would happen, for months to date, then the cause for complaint when it does happen is minimised.
I havnt been in a dungeon for the past 3 weeks, either the good players changed servers or those remaining i’d wouldn’t want to risk a 5k key to be stuck on the first boss… OPR is a dream at this point. AGS doesnt know how to handle a merge that’s why it’s “in discussion”. I strongly believe they just trying to kill this game at this point.
Welcome to the club buddy, you’re now a doom and gloomer.
It’s now you find out that the “habitual doom and gloomers” weren’t pulling problems out of their ass to whine about, and they have legitimate grievances.
Long post, short answer, need the framework first to easily trace the problems that will occur during merge, need a lot of brainstorming, merge is not as easy as transfers, there’s so many things to consider
In the 1.1.1 patch notes they literally stated they payed the groundwork for server mergers. It’s not as simple as just copying and pasting. They are working on it.
This lol. I basically came to the forums first time to understand why everone around me has voidbent armor full while I nolifed the game and barely managed to hit 60.
When I learned that people have been duping since day 1 since it was alrdy present in the beta I got a sour taste. But then the next dupes happened and eventho I enjoyed the game somewhat with the lacking content due to a great community.
It just got worse and worse. Everybody still there was abusing everything. I mean shit like this happens when noone controls anything either so I don’t blame the players here even lol.
They won like 4 territories, made their 2million since they didn’t address anything and it just all added up.
Now my server is dead since sth like 8 weeks. Just like the majority of EU servers. Noone cares about tokens, we have probably 2k ppl who likely won’t even login anymore if merges won’t happen.
And I guess the community aspect is big on any server, it’s not just guildexclusive
What is wrong with you. Anytime anyone says anything remotely critical of the game you go off.
Just because someone says something critical of the game doesn’t mean they hate or are trying to destroy it.
People should be able to discuss real problems the game faces as long as it is in a respectful manner.
It’s not like people are even addressing you directly yet you feel the need to attack. Accusing anyone remotely critical of the game as being a plant from a competitor.
I assure you that st present no competitor is feeling remotely threatened by New World.
You come across as a delusional conspiracy theorist. You don’t have a single original or constructive thought to contribute so you act like act like a child. Grow up
Create new server for each world set, then delete all servers in server set and when players login they are in the new server. Compensate 100k eachzone for companies who lost territory. Make outpost rush cross server. Most will be happy I think. Can’t satisfy all anyways. But this is needed asap to boost players involvement.
