RESPONSE: A "Mega Company" Perspective

Itll be interesting to see how brimstone factors into all of this.

As for current cities I think ebonscale is bright and visually appealing and i don’t dislike the music like I do in say…Reekwater.

I’d guess that BS will be a good location, music sounded good and it looks great aswell.

ES has alright music but layout, both traversing the city and map layout to other zones is mediocre at best, imo.

Edit: i can see CK getting more player attention and maybe FL too based on city revamps. They both have very pleasing music and nice biomes. Just not positioned well enough compared to EF and WW.

Maybe with future expansions going into the open sea south and west, CK and FL can gain way more player activity.

I didnt care for the ebonscale layout at first either but i got used to zizgzagging the stairs and now its my home base.

I love that all the craft stations, faction rep, kiln, sheds and townboards are ao close together.

I do recommend a hardhat though, due to all the wall divers. A few well placed ziplines might help lol

Headbutting goats flinging you off the top could be a great start. Death maybe included based on goat power level

Did we successfully derail the thread now?

The same rewards that other games give for PvP competition? There are so many models to use.

Without any rewards at all, owning a town is a great recruiting tool because it’s just cool. It’s advertising, and a status symbol.

Dont understand why you would try to explain PVP to bots who need Full Ward to do Mutas. Like did you seriously expect anyone of them would get how to make more than 500g/day without much effort? These are the same ppl who but move/thwaring GAs for 20k on the market just for ppl like me to flip it up to 70k+.

I love the everfall revamp and will probably go back to that being home base once the update goes live.

You know, I have thought about this too, but not going to contribute taxes to the owning company there until they revamp the ownership perks, EF and WW already make way too much because of their popularity, I dont want to contribute my drop in the bucket to that, yet.

:beers:

How is this different from other games? Does Apex or Valorant reward you for hours spent in aimlab or coaching other players? No. Why should New World be different especially for a game mode that is not accessible by the entire player base. It’s entirely your choice to put that time in. 66K for at most one hour a day is way too much.

Those frigging goats. I was shocked to find an untapped large starmetal node on an ebonscale cliff the other day…only to get bounced off the edge before I could finish tapping it. I killed every goat in sight for the next hour.

No, not really. I’d think that more than 5 million coins are being sunk just through listings. If you changed it so the current amount of trading post taxes is sunk instead of given to the governing company then you’d be adding 12 million coins. That’s more than double what is currently being sunk.

However, the listing costs are hard to estimate, I go into why in my topic about the territory system.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt here.

The benefit is that a well managed, powerful company keeps the crafting stations at teir 5.

This costs them time and money to do. Paying the upkeep, winning invasions so it doesn’t get wrecked. Winning wars so it is stable.

In addition they keep crafting buffs all the time.

Admit it, it is very frustrating when you go to make your food and the town you store your food in had its kitchen dropped to t4 last night… or you want to craft armor, but the town with the t5 doesn’t have the armors buff up…

These well run companies are a benefit to the whole server.

Windsward:

  • It became popular as a starting zone.
  • First place people think to buy a house, at least until they see ebonscale
  • Objectively one of the best station layouts for crafters.
  • Lots of players.

Ebonscale:

  • Best looking zone
  • Level 60 zone
  • Best housing, and now has tier 4.

Everfall:

  • Central, 2nd most houses (possibly causing people to craft there even with the terrible layout)
  • Used to be a starting zone.

Honestly, I don’t know after that. I’m guessing a lot of people bought houses there cause it’s not a bad place to have a house and then forced them to craft there because of their storage. Also, Monarchs and Everfall are getting a revamp so expect more players to buy houses there, and possibly as a consequence of that housing, craft there more often. Which then causes the trading post there and other stations to be used more frequently.

No. Reekwater, Restless, and Weavers are just shit territories. The only thing Reekwater offers is cool housing and the fact that it’s a level 60 area but its also the worst level 60 area.

I understood everything. You’re the one who didn’t understand anything, you refuse to acknowledge the advantage of holding territory because you can’t think/understand what someone is telling you.

It will take Everfalls place as the 2nd highest earning zone if not the first.

That’s why they need to do a complete rework of companies and territories. It’s too simple and boring. Companies should be something that players progress and benefit from, not a shell for storing coins. Owning a territory shouldn’t be such a major source of coins, it should have other benefits.

Wonder what the highest amount of $ paid for a perm war slot is so far.

Thank you! <3

Which can be easily resolved by making the stations permanent T5.

Yes, we saw the costs. 120,000g out of 5.1 million in income went to upkeep. Warren Buffet would kill for that kind of ROI.

See above.

And yes, I’ve pointed out repeatedly in this post that the “benefit” for the millions up on millions of gold that get deposited into company banks via taxation of the entire playerbase gets us… T5 crafting stations! (that everyone, not just companies, leveled from T1-T5 via townboard quests). There’s no reason for tiered craft stations and they need to go the way of tiered reagents and massive azoth costs to teleport.

Should War Rewards be desirable and lucrative? Yes

Should those rewards be paid for with gold taken from every other player on the server?
No
