My question is, when only the botters and sellers are left, how long do they stick around before giving up? I mean – you gotta have customers, right?

We just had a brand new dungeon, a new mutated dungeon, and pvp arenas… that’s a pretty major content update for both pve and pvp and the player count hasn’t increased at all and continues the slow decline. In that time they also released a new dupe and banned a bunch of people and broke instanced pvp to kick anyone that checks score. Games on life support with no hope of recovery.
I just sold all my mats last night and made about 130k. Most of it I sold thru buy orders cause I’m lazy. There’s really nothing to spend the gold on, just $150 a week for tax in 3 homes and repairs. Aside from people trying to level crafting, why do people need large amounts of gold?
Disagree 100%. This game has the most easiest way to make gold without being a crafter. This is my third time at gold cap (500k) since November when I was just a peasant with 32k to my name. How was I able to make gold cap? I’m glad you asked that question and before you doubt it, it’s very doable to make gold cap weather you’re a crafter or not. Tell you why…
Resources: Check the TP daily on what goods sell every day, even better, know in quantities what sells within 30 min to and hour. Items that sell over 1g each is very profitable. Heck, on my server in the US East, Eggs are selling for 27g/each. That’s how easy it is. Farm eggs and you’ll make money.
- Green Wood - chop Young Trees turn into Charcoal = sell
- Rawhide - either sell as is or turn into Coarse Leather = sell
- Iron Ore - either sell as is or turn into Iron Ingots = sell
- Eggs = sell
- Beeswax = sell
- Ironwood (raw wood/planks)= sell
-Wyrdwood (raw wood/planks)= sell - Any type of precious metal, Gold, Silver, Platinum = either sell as ore or turn into Ingots = sell
- Reinforced Orichalcum Gear/Weapon Perk modification Charms (depends on the gear/weapon perk type) = sell
- Raw foods: Corn, Carrots, Broccoli and Barley = sell
- Elemental Motes, all types = sell
- Gem Fusion from Common to Rare to Pristine Gems > Cut Pristine Gems = sell
If you go on a Chest run (World Tour), you can easily get 20+ gems by looting stockpiles ranging from Common to Pristine gems, fuse them, cut, then sell
- Obsidian Sandpaper, Obsidian Flux, Pure Solvent, Aged Tannin = sell. You can get over 300+ of each just from the chest run from all Level 60+ zones.
Everyday I conduct chests runs and sell most of the items I’ve mentioned including furniture schematics and easily rack up 10k+ per day. Some days are less profit, some more, it all depends what and when you sell. If something is high on demand, chances are, it’s going to sell expensively and worth the grind to obtain it.
The mentality of players saying 625’s cheat w/ RMT, duping, have the best PvE/PvP gear is 100% false. Are they out there? I’m sure there are. But that don’t make up the majority of players who are already 625. It’s not hard getting to either 625 Expertise or 625 Gear Score with Umbral Shards. Depends on your content to obtain Shards. All of my gear (head to feet) with the exception of my two legendary weapons and 2 legendary pieces of Jewelry are “EPIC” quality with 2 BiS Perks and all 625GS/625 Expertise. You don’t need 3 perks for it to be “BiS”. A two perk gear build set is still quite good if you have 2 BiS perks. If you have all 3 perks as “BiS”, you’re good to go by a long run than most players.
Economy changes from server to server, region to region. Just because that once piece of “Epic gear” sells for 10k and if it’s a 3rd “BiS” perk selling for 150k, don’t mean it’s going to be the same on a different region/server. Your economy is what “you” make it. Supply and demand dictates how your economy runs. Do bots and whale companies have a say in this? Sure, they both can sway how the economy runs, I’ve seen it myself. However, what people craft and sell as “BiS” is up to that person selling and who’s willing to buy. I’m not trying to tell you how you should play the game, just trying to show you the perspective on how easy this game really is, especially marketing. it’s all doable, it’s just a grind as in any other MMO, you just gotta keep pressing on to get what you want.
Please come DRY TREE EU Server to do the things you say where tons of bots, alt characters and many players around at this server. I log in the game at night times to play between 2-4 hours maximum (everyone supposed to have a real life and a real job in real life, right?). Whenever I try to gather materials for crafting and sell etc, the resources are are all taken most of the time. In the meantime I try to do 1-2 dungeons and some pvp arenas or pvp salt quests at the Great Cleave. I tried to craft my own items but I lost 200-300k gold while try to get best perks with legendary items and I failed… And if I try to get BIS items from trade post, thy sell them +200k gold for each piece… This game has lots of gold sellers, gold buyers, bots, alt account users, like what we experienced in Archeage for 7 years and thy ruined the game, it is sad that all that illegal players and guilds who play the games to earn real life money, thy all came to EU servers that their character names and even guild names are same. So again because of these kind of players, NEW WORLD is ruined and there is no way to fix it now and AGS doesn’t punish any illegal players too… Nodes spawn faster now, and thanks to bots etc, the prices in high populated servers are dropped… Raw foods: Corn, Carrots, Broccoli and Barley or any resources you say I spend 2-3 hours to get a few hundred if I am lucky and thy are not looted before me; but when I look at the Trade Post thy are selling in mass production as thousands like 6k-10k… and everyday is like that…
According to you I need to play this game 6-12 hours daily to do everything you say to make gold as doing dungeons, pvp quests etc too. We need to become a gamer nerd to play games all the time and stop going to real life job too… AGS nerfed Umbral Shards and noone is doing m1-m6 mutators because thy think it is worthless, so thy only do +m7 dungeons and thy ask ppl to have best items and major combat trophies too… and noone is doing end game rifts to gather gypsum orbs, but then you need to join chest runs to have a chance get a mere 50 umbral shard and even that RNG for spending hours to do all elite chest runs… There are ppl sell 6k umbral shards for 10k gold…

Never really understood how some1 can tear a game down about shutting down so much on IT’S game forums? Like if you quit the game, just quit. What does it matter to you about what the game does after you have quit? Just stay on the forums to lie and tear it down???

Well, it’s unfortunate you’re going through that with your server in EU. I have ZERO intentions going from US to EU servers to “check it out”, I’m well adverse on how those types of situations are happening since I’ve been playing NW during Alpha/Beta phase and every day since Launch. Sounds like your server in particular is riddled with bots (maybe more than usual), but who’s isn’t anyway, we all suffer from bots and other cash grabs. Perhaps a better, more economic server might be in your interest. it wouldn’t hurt to create a “alt” to check out other EU servers to see if their bot/economy situation checks out better.
With your TP situation, BiS items can go for 150-200k even more depending on the type like gear, weapon or jewelry, it’s not uncommon. That’s why they are called “Best In Slot” (BiS) which are highly desirable pieces of craft and as crafters know, they rarely come crafted with those particular perks and when they do and players want/need that piece of gear or weapon, the price tag is usually high enough that end game players can afford. Sure, a multi-million dollar company can buy it, and yes, there’s a problematic with gold-sellers who can scoop up those items too, so, what’s the solution here? No one knows for sure. It sucks, but until AGS has a definitive solution to stop the bots/gold sellers/dupers, it’s going to continue and legitimate players will continue to suffer.
As far as play time to gather all those things, I roughly play ~6-8 hrs of New World per day and focus on mainly harvesting/gathering and sell those good I’ve mentioned for profit. As of late, I would farm for about 1 hr prior to our “Elite Chest Run” on my server, gather Iron, Silver, Starmetal, Rawhide, Wyrdwood, Ironwood, Motes and some Raw Foods to stockpile. Then, conduct the chest run and loot T3 refinery mats, gems, furniture schematics, gear/weps/crafting gear and sell. And that run would take about 3 hrs from start to finish, then spend 1 more hour going back to harvesting/gathering again to make more profit. After refining my goods and all, I’d sell them on the TP, log off, then the next morning log on and see how much profit I’ve made. usually a full 18 hrs go by w/o me playing New World, so, I don’t “sweat” the game any more like I did before when the first game launched, I was hooked on playing 8-12 hrs per day.
As far as the ppl selling 6k umbral for 10k gold, they just want to bump up their Gear Score faster. 10k is pretty cheap for 6k umbral tbh, plus, add 400 umbral per 625GS slot times that by 4 or 5 Gypsum and that’s about ~8k umbral shards for 2,000 Umbral from x5 Gypsum casts plus the 6k from the 10k coin sale, so, yea, 8k per day can bump you up to 625GS/Expertise in all slots faster than most people.
Not for nothing though, many players are experiencing what you are experiencing and they have the same frustrations. It’s really out of our hands at the moment. However, the players DO have the ability to take control of the TP economy and the prices, but, it really depends on the server as a whole. If it was not the high latency problem, I want to transfer to NA to play NA players. NA players more mature than EU players that are many toxic **** here.

AGS FIX YOUR NON-SENSE 3VS3 PVP ARENA AND EVEN OPR SYSTEM… IT IS SO UNBALANCED and It is exploited by PRE-MADE PARTIES in very possible way
This is just one example with real proof about the link I gave above for the thread I opened today.
AGS should fix their games to prevent players to exploit OPR and 3vs3 PvP arena by these pre-made parties, bots, alt accounts and so on; and of course make warnings about toxic players in the forums and in the game permanently really 
… I started to lose my hope and fun to play this game at the end … AGS doesn’t fix anything, AGS doesn’t ban the real illegal cheater etc players and these toxic players, so reporting them with proofs etc don’t do any effect at this game…
Anyway… Nothing will change just because I type sth to see fixes in the game for a better gameplay. But normal players like me suffer a lot in EU region, that’s why the population drops even after every patch…
Brand new dungeon? came out 3 months ago… no one whos taking a break or quit the game cares about new mutations on the same old dungeons and majority of mmo players are pve heavy players, people dont come back to a game because of a new game mode. honestly if there was no hope you wouldnt be here crying your heart out.

UGH! I play daily, I have neither bought, nor sold coins. I plan to keep playing until the worlds empty, or the lights go out. Just because some people are unscrupulous, doesn’t mean they all are.
If they do shutdown the game and forums, who will listen to you then?
18k peak on a friday night… you’re right, maybe I will do some crying. Cry for this dead ass game I liked playing. Was doing arenas all night with the same 10 people, but hey at least you can still find matches on my server, I guess.

Guess I’m not shocked love is an estranged concept for someone bragging about their money on the New World forums.
I think the problem is that you just come from a denomination that is very used to aggressively attacking people to make a point, and aren’t used to fair and equivocal treatment as a point of fact.
