I recently started a new character, and getting that rested bonus every time I log in has made me kinda miss it when I log in to my level 60. I see a couple similar discussions on here that all ended up closed, but figured I’d add my 2 cents.
My idea was a Luck bonus that would last a set time after login (depending, like the XP bonus does, on how long you’ve been away). I think Luck makes sense because it’s easy to track and hard to game. Having it on a timer mirrors how XP bonuses applied to a set amount of XP
Other ideas were Azoth bonuses (unnecessary w/ fast travel updates imo), and Crafting and Gathering bonuses as well (I could see skill XP on a timer working well).
I do agree that rested bonus and also XP should have some kind of reward at lvl 60 but Luck?? Not really a fan of the whole Luck system. Do many different “lucks” and luck is not really well documented stat. It has do much RNG. Would rather see luck skill removed from the game.
At lvl 60 you could get aptitude chests for each level filled or something of similar.
Aptitude chests are definitely a possibility. This would mean it’s more like X hours = 1 chest, then another chest at 2X hours, and 3X, etc. Luck or crafting/gathering XP bonuses are more similar to the sub-60’s X time away = Y XP gained at a bonus rate. Not bad, just different. You could also just always give 1 chest after the rested threshold is met, but slightly improve “Luck” for that chest the longer the player is away.
I also just had the thought of rested giving you the chance to get more Gypsum. It’d have to be capped (e.g. one per half-day rested bonus, max 3, no two can be the same Gypsum type) to avoid just breaking the reward loop for consistent players, but that could also work.
I disagree on Luck though, I think some manipulation is important for farming rare late-game materials, since otherwise it’s just pure RNG and no way more reliably farm rare mats. But that doesn’t mean I think Luck is the only good implementation of a 60+ rested bonus.
