You canât just read and quote the first line in a 17 line post, then say how you could âtwist my questionâ and ask me how can I be so confident when I have already written just that in the other 16 lines.
Why, are you one of them gold sellers for irl money?
Iâm only asking this because my second option gives people a choice whether to join the new post-dupe servers or not.
The fact that you disregarded both options without giving any REAL explanation as to why, makes you a sussy baka from my point of view.
Or maybe you invested irl money into gold, and donât want people leaving your server?
Am I getting⌠warmer?
Compared to actual degrees and proffesions youâre a muppet begging online for some attention.
If you are a pro player then yes THAT is a job, otherwise youâre an online unemployable beggar.
I couldnât care less about you or have less respect for what you do, because you think things need to be tailored around you because you have more value than any ONE other player.
Hereâs the news flash, you donât.
Youâre free to do whatever you want, just donât ask me to waltz around it for some reason because youâre delusional about being âtop tierâ anything.
And last but not least, any decent streamer would tell you that being top tier has nothing to do with outgearing you opponent by spending wild ammounts of time in a game, rather outplaying them when the playing field is even or even better, outplaying them when they outgear you.
But if I had to guess from your post, Iâd have already known you are a poor excuse for one.
You did not give me a real explanation
I just pointed that out in my previous reply.
I also edited the original post since you got so confused you thought my second option would invalidate all progress, when itâs just a choice to start over for anyone willing. Whoever decides to stay on their primary server and play further has the option to do so.
As I said above:
The items were duped are in game. You canât keep track of them or remove them all.
Your shitpost idea of a fix is something that will come naturally with the upcoming patches.
Raising max level already? The game was just launched and you suggest it does what other MMOs do after years of uptime.
They already announced they will triple the exp needed to reach level 200 for tradeskills.
This doesnât only mean that the dupers who got all tradeskills at 200 had it easy, but newcomers will have 3 times a harder time to reach tradeskill cap, because of the panic measures devs took to restabilize economy after dupefest
This was announced recently.
Sure, except they are some of the ideas Iâve seen a large number of players suggest on World chat on my server. I just fished out the more popular ones that seemed to be a good and logical fix and posted them on the forums while adding some extra minor details from myself for option 1 at least.
Iâm just curious whatâs so terrible about these suggestions?
The only solutions youre offering are to have all the progress youâve made be deleted from the game, or start over from level 1 and repeat everything youve already done. Iâm not trying to misrepresent your options, but they both genuinely effectively invalidate all the legitimate progress that anyone has made.
Option 1:
Iâm going to be pissed if I find out that I lose my full set of voidbent, which I grinded for myself and didnât buy a single thing for, just because some edgy kids found out a hole in the system.
If you want people to feel upset, delete their progress, thatâs a sure-fire way to get people angry.
Option 2:
People transfer away from their server because itâs running out of people, theyâre not going to join a server with even less players.
Yet people ask for these specific things, and I tend to agree with them as valid solutions.
People have quit the game for various reasons.
A large number of players left because of the dupes, while others would leave if there would be a server wipe.
Yet maybe if there would be a server wipe (presented in option 1) people who left cause of dupefest would come back and find interest once more in the game. Itâs a gamble, but the game would surely not die.
Option 2, is a more secure bet. I would start over there any time, and judging by the reaction of others on Global chat, many would do the same.
There was an option in âoption 1â where youâd keep your equipped set but lose all other materials.
The possibilities are limitless.
Either way it would probably come up to a vote, as a poll, if devs would ever consider it, which I start to doubt given the amount of negative reaction I got on this post so far.
So the further options in âoption 1â would be to lose all resources or:
Keep part of the resources (letâs say: a total of 5k wood, 5k rawhide, etc.)
Because those who duped, got like all their banks filled with all kinds of mats, even legendary crafting materials (such as voidbent ingots, smolderhide, scarhide, asmodeum etc.)
Which will occasionally keep finding their way on the marketplace.
Keep an open mind, as this could change into anything agreeable by the majority of the players - what to keep in case of a wipe.
I think you have judged my OP a bit too rough, and a bit too fast.
Iâm not like telling the devs what to do, itâs a mere suggestion suggested by people on my server, which I took a bit further, as their main idea was a full wipe, and their reason for that was pretty thorough and logical.
I mean I could agree to a resource and coin wipe, but not to a full wipe.
Leveling all weapons to 20 AGAIN would take me way too much and is not a fun activity to invest your time in. And even that is fun compared to getting logging to 200.
But making coin can be fun, as it take some skill and grey matter to do it successfully. So this doesnât need to become a repetitive task, therefore wiping all coin/resources should not upset that many people.
Why not let them decide this for themselves? What are you afraid of?
Servers will be merged anyway, and people will be given the option to transfer and balance out the remaining multitude of servers. You literally should not have a single worry of getting hurt in any way by implementing this option.
FYI Iâm all for rolling out new servers entirely and letting people transfer there. A fresh economy free from previous dupes. It might be interesting, it might work⌠But it might just as well flop and then people have spent their only PRECIOUS transfer token on a gamble.
You donât understand.
Option 2 presents a NEW SET OF WORLDS that characters that played on the OLD SERVERS canât transfer to.
So there would be 2 different SETS of SERVERS.
You could transfer a character created on the old servers to any of the old servers.
But you couldnât transfer it to any of the NEW non-duped worlds.
Riiight! Alright, yeah I definitely misunderstood you. Itâs an idea, yep. Certainly an⌠idea.
Iâm personally never going to consider making an entirely new toon though. 400 hours of effort in my ugly-clad mage baby⌠I agree most endgame players agree with me here. Those servers are probably going to be veeeeryy quiet.
Or hey, you just gave me an idea for a 3rd option!
A new set of servers where you could transfer your main character to.
You would keep your character level, etc. but you couldnât transfer any currency, or items.
This world would have a fresh economy free from previous dupes.
AND AS A MEASURE OF SAFETY:
If you donât like the world, you can transfer your character back to the previous (OLD DUPED WORLD), and roll back to the moment before you got transfered.
This would work as well.
This way you wouldnât force the wipe on anyone.
And people wouldnât lose their entire progress.
They would join a new world that has a fresh economy and continue playing keeping their current levels and skills, but only losing materials and coin!
Honestly, that scares me. I donât want to be a level 60 running around naked, rolling through scorched mines in hopes I get to loot some clothing against the chilly mountain winds.
Personally, Iâm just waiting for them to add world transfers to the cash shop. I donât mind splurging a few bucks to get to an environment I feel is healthy.
Can be fixed as well.
Once you transfer a lvl 60 character on the new set of worlds, you get a GS 500 purple armor set by default, that has the stats you have chosen yourself (based on the points you distributed into your primary stats) and some GS 500 weapons of the type you had equipped before transferring.
And to add a bonus, a full set of Starmetal basic tools to mine, harvest, etc.
It would be fun.
But those are speculations, you donât have any hard case that dupers had that much of an impact by themsleves. As a matter of fact the economy was already trending heavily in this direction before most of the duping took place
These are not speculations, but the way the game is designed to work.
People need resources and coin to level their crafting.
Crafting exp required to progress each level is going to be increased 3 times from the next patch on (so people will require 3x more materials to level their trade skills to 200).
Cities require gold and mats for upkeep and to cover damages caused by invasions.
So there is a constant demand for materials, so the market values will never NATURALLY reach a point where economy deflates as it did cause of the dupers. Or it might but never fully, and even then in a very long time, and only if there would be no patches that add new content, expansions, etc. because of city upkeep alone!
Also donât forget that fully geared people will rarely go and farm materials. Theyâll do other activities for gold, such as Outpost Rush.
So the demand needs to be covered by mid-geared people, or PVE players mostly. And those wonât be so many as to overflood the markets.
Keep in mind that duping was possible since Beta. So you couldnât possibly know yourself how the market would naturally deflate, since the market was never ânaturalâ to say.
Edit: So theoretically, in time, the game could restore its economy naturally, but until then, Gold Sellers will still make a fortune. You have no clue how many people buy duped coin, and how many of that coin is made by selling duped mats that flood the market, and will do so for a very long time.
I know someone who spent somewhere in the range of 1500 euros to be among the first who reached coin cap.
Morally, I think thatâs wrong. People will keep buying, so the game will become P2W, because youâll have to compete with fully geared people that invested RL money to get there.
