Game is actually better. It still has major flaws but the devs are actually listening to feedback. I came back after my main mmo upcoming update is going to kill the game. Wont mention any names lol,
It is not a good time to come back. Wait for the new area or you will just end up burned out again.
Trust me on this
Dude you sounds like you are sentence for some crimes to play NW. Just make a break and let other players enjoy the game.
I am on my 4rth month of my break after 1.2k hours in the game. I log on from time to time to see what’s up.
The game is not ready for a return. Period
Disagree ![]()
I think it’s in a really good spot now, and only getting better ![]()
Its stronger but its problems have been more exposed → stay at your own risk
Back after 6 months…
-Expertise grind is at a good spot. It goes quickly in expeditions, and I was able to go from ~520 to 600 in a couple weeks of casual play
-PvP is still dumb in every facet, but they’re shaking up the meta next patch so we’ll see
-The economy is massively improved, most likely thanks to AGS injecting gold into a lot of different playstyles.
Welcome back but I dont get this urge need of creating threads whenever a guy leave/come back.
That’s a lie
True. It’s good time. Also patch will be next week.

Is that the patch does not change the system, just add a couple of gypsum. But you still can’t redeem all the gypsum in the same item for example, or collect gypsum doing what you like the most, so you still have a +2 progress per day.
just no.
Let me expand:
During the work week I was able to get in 1 or 2 expeditions, or maybe an expedition and a few chest runs. During the weekend, I would hit a 6-8 hour expedition grind on one day and maybe even a couple hours of chest runs, then on the other day hit 3-4 hours worth of expeditions.
All total that was about 22 hours of play a week, which feels pretty casual. Jewelry took a month of gypsums to grind which was a bit annoying.
Apparently the expertise bumps have increased by about double in the next patch, iirc.
Also I think with the new salvage system you can craft things to boost expertise, which doesn’t have a CD. Not 100% on this one though
Either way, doing expeditions are fun, and the expertise grind is not bad through this route. PvP on the other hand is a nightmare. You’re better off just grinding expertise to 600 before you start doing PvP properly.
I don’t think it’s worth spending too much time on expeditions if the equipment you get is worth nothing (less than GS590), and the problem is that the RUNs are usually at certain times of the day, and you can’t always find them. But they are still the most effective way to climb.
Tank on a busy server here. I never wait more than 5 minutes and I stopped buying Orbs from the faction vendor because I never needed them, although whenever I found a good group I’d offer to pop an orb for a 2nd run and half the time they’d agree.
Welcome back, yeah nw is little better now, but need more work.
Myself Im not feel this unique feeling of an new special mmo, like when I play wow for the first time BC 2007 and how amazing that feeling was.
That game that has that feeling I hope ashes of creation will have when I first play it, until then I play nw.
So true. But some try to convince others it’s this huge mountain to climb, when in reality it goes by pretty quickly.
The existence of a meta is the problem. It indicates character power is built around specific gear and skills rather than the player’s performance. It wasn’t always like this, but making the game like this was an intentional choice.
Shaking up the meta = new grinds.
I wish player skill expression was a bigger deal.
