Please for the love of god remove this change, It is shit in pvp and pve and is ruining playing these roles, find some other way to let someone use skillful play to lock me down instead of allowing a left click option that just wins combine with overtuned “Dodge everything with no stamina” game design. yea this just feels horrible. as mage/healer youre auto attacking a lot and yet it basically roots you. either that or you have to waste a dodge to get out of it. also makes potting really tricky at times because it further delays all your inputs.
Imagine struggling as healer/mage against melees.
IT has to be reworked. Im not sure it should be removed. But at least light attacks should not apply this. Only skills and heavy attacks at best.

For the love of god…stop introducing game mechanics that don’t have a diminishing return system. Stuns, Roots, Snares ANY thing that causes you to lose control of your character should only be effective so much before it becomes completely ineffective.
SWTOR had a bar for this that once it filled up you were completely immune to all forms of crowd control until the bar was empty again. We need a mechanic like that in this game.
Im mixed on this change as a dex I know my 1vx potential was nuts, but i can still win most fight and tbh melee was kind of dirt for a long time, I don’t like how the change feels but maybe faster stamina regen would make combat feel more fluid.
That is a great idea. I have mixed feelings on the change with armor movement, but this sounds like a solid thing AGS should attempt to make it feel less jarring.
Funny cuz adding diminishing returns to CC and neutering actual combos to kill is why we have the melee cripple we have today. Range could just smash head on shift to never get caught. Good range players still can.
We do not have a mechanic in this game with actual true diminishing returns. Everything can be applied adnaseum without penalty. Caps are not diminishing returns.
Agree, still plenty of range players that are annoying to catch to impossible.
But those players are probably not on forums complaining. lol
PvP feels pretty terrible since they implemented the dodge distance reduction after getting tagged a single time. It is just way too rewarding now to connect with a single swing, especially since there are no diminishing returns like @Sonickat said.
I honestly really hate the way they constantly try to balance things by adding more jank to animations or making things more clunky in general. The top priority should always be to preserve the smooth, somewhat fast-paced and skillful combat. But changes like that massively slow down combat and disincentivize players from engaging in fights as defending yourself with active dodging and blocking quickly becomes an afterthought once a Melee player connects with you.
I wholeheartedly hope they revisit this change and find other ways to balance Melee vs. Range that do not interrupt the flow of combat and cause that much collateral damage to things that were not problematic in the first place.
Stamina regen is not issue. Issue is that moment some LMB spammer with hatchet, ss, rapier or gs jumps on you, there is nothing you can do. You can only die. You lose controll over your character. You cant dodge far enought thx to all nerfs, you cant pot and you cant use any skills - couse light attack spam right now does break this action somehow.
Slow isnt an issue when you fight mele like Ga, Wh and others - couse even light attacks there are not spammable. So its playable. But against this spammable weapons it feels like sh…
