Im as regular a player as you can get. I only play 3 hrs 4 days out of the work week plus however things workout with my time on weekends. Example today was Saturday so i played 6 hrs total.
I don’t power level i dont chase beating other plays to a level or tradeskill lvl etc.
I go with the flow for what is fun to me.
I have done expefitions (amirine) ive pvp’d many times, ive closed corrupted portals and i joined wars.
I’ve played for 70 hrs per steam.im one bar from lvl 33 as i write this.
I like the game in general. But it needs a lot more to keep me engaged for the long haul. Mmorpgs are long term games. Their very design is based on long term play over several years. I’ve olayed wow fir 16 years, played rift for 2 swtor for 4 years gw2 for around 1,etc.
As NW stands today there is no content to hold my attention or desire to play beyond perhaps 6 months.
You need a substantially more diverse assortment of mobs, quests (including more of them) , and instances if you want to capture the PVE audience longterm. What’s in the game now isnt gonna do it.
Lore is also very weak in this game. Remember the RPG part of mmorpg. A lot of players expect lore, the expect story. You try with your quests but again it just feels lacking.
The game is very grindy. The stuff i mentioned above is more significant because of this grind factor. The kill these mobs , collect these items from chests model feels like its 50% of all quests in the game. It gets old . Especially when trying to grind up tradeskills and weapon skills.
Finally i think over the long haul some of your systems will keep a lot of potential customers from buying new world
You have ridiculous spawn times in many areas and quests. Ive kill mobs in front of chests that respawn barely after i got the items from a chest and maybe moved 10 yards away.
You dont have mounts yes i heard the “but fast travel and the map isnt huge” argument. Good for those people that can play all day everyday. There are legit routes that can take 10 or even 15 minutes to walk where fast travel doesnt help much. That may seem a small issue if you play 8 hrs a day. But in a game whete quest givers bounce you all over the place and you can play 2 maybe 3 hrs. Over a few quests you could blow 30 or more minutes solely to travel time.
Fast travel. Good to have but there should be twice as many if no mounts and they should only have cool down timers not a currency cost.
Your environment artists and sound people deserve recognition and praise for incredible work
The teams that work on character models, weapons, armor and clothing looks…not so much.
Character creation is weak for a 2021 mmorpg rekeased by one of the wealthiest companies in the world.
The models are bland. The clothing and armor is uninspired.
Pvp missions …can we get some variety please?
Why do i have re pickup the pvp quest if im killed while doing them? Is it not enough that i failed them…but i also have to run back to get them again?
Gathering is a grind. Take a page from world of warcraft, allow ANYONE to gather a herb, mine a node for five minutes after the first person dies so. After the five munute clock then the object disappears and goes by its respawn timer.
