it would be healthy for the game to have tanky builds be able to take point instead of taking point dodging and being annoying.
defensive perks should be linked to your weight (number no class to also break down the min max wall) it should be the case that the opposite is true for other perks freedom class perks should be better in light. but then it makes it almost a must have so it would also need to be balanced properly so its enough of a benifit to still be worth it on non optimal builds.
No, this would be like changing reslience to only affect backstabs and headshots. Just adjust the number, none of this fancy stuff that’ll completly invalidate gear investment.
How come? It would still be strong, on par with other aversion perks. Currently aversions are not really sought after because shirking fortification is that strong. Nerfing shirking fortification without any changes to aversion perks would still make physical aversion pretty useless imo.
imo ele aversion is pretty bis already, no trigger, not a removable buff, not absorbtion so not affected by absorbtion cap of 50%, additionally because it is not absorbtion, rend is less effective against aversion since it is a separate multiplier. people lack imagination so they just stack shirking fort, but ele aversion is very good and competitive with shirking fort, especially for builds with high absorbtion. phys aversion not so much since most phys dmg is melee. nevertheless, people invest in shirking fort because it is a very balanced option braindead option. is it overtuned, yes, but it does not need to be changed into a completely different perk, that would fuck with a lot of builds. just adjust the values, and c/d.
How about the 2nd suggestion then? Shirk fort stays the same and phys aversion reduces all physical damage (including melee) and not just range? Would at least make it somewhat useful I think
This would be about the dumbest thing they can do. Massively nerf a bunch of peoples gear right after they spent tons of money and time farming for new BIS. Your suggestion also nerfs it much more for ranged as they usually fight other ranged than it does for melee.
Should we balance the game around people who bought expensive gear? Also there is a second suggestion listed to just make “physical aversion” apply to all physical damage, not just ranged. This would kinda even things out and shirk fort would be good vs both but dispellable buff, or you could get flat elemental absorb or flat physical absorb. All I’m saying is shirk fort is way too strong right now compared to aversions and rather than nerf it, make aversions on par with it.
The thing is there are 2 suggestions listed one of which wouldn’t touch to shirk fort as a whole, but rather buff physical aversion and make it apply to all physical damage - ranged and melee. Shirk fort could stay as it is, just aversions should be made stronger to atleast be on par with it, because it currently is bis for most players, but aversions not so much.
