Rework shirking fortification and aversions

How about the 2nd suggestion then? Shirk fort stays the same and phys aversion reduces all physical damage (including melee) and not just range? Would at least make it somewhat useful I think

Yea true would be a nice thing too, phys aversion is just pretty useless right now.

Something needs to be done, because its a pretty mandatory perk ATM.

This would be about the dumbest thing they can do. Massively nerf a bunch of peoples gear right after they spent tons of money and time farming for new BIS. Your suggestion also nerfs it much more for ranged as they usually fight other ranged than it does for melee.

shirking fortification is what allows melee players to better play their role.

we must stop wanting to systematically facilitate the game for range players so that melee players are cut out by them.

Should we balance the game around people who bought expensive gear? Also there is a second suggestion listed to just make “physical aversion” apply to all physical damage, not just ranged. This would kinda even things out and shirk fort would be good vs both but dispellable buff, or you could get flat elemental absorb or flat physical absorb. All I’m saying is shirk fort is way too strong right now compared to aversions and rather than nerf it, make aversions on par with it.

The thing is there are 2 suggestions listed one of which wouldn’t touch to shirk fort as a whole, but rather buff physical aversion and make it apply to all physical damage - ranged and melee. Shirk fort could stay as it is, just aversions should be made stronger to atleast be on par with it, because it currently is bis for most players, but aversions not so much.

why not make parries work on ranged attacks, and make aversion become:

after blocking a ranged attack, you take X% less ranged damage for 6 seconds.

this would enhance the blockages, the aversions. it would add a new perk as interesting as fortification and it would also help heavy armor to feel better against a range army.

moreover, the block making the player immobile, the player will have to stop if he wishes to avoid a blow at the right moment, rather than just dodging.
and a melee player will have the choice between hitting, dodging or blocking depending on the situation.

No, this is the best perk for medium armor melees players. Gear without at least 3 this perk is senseles and your nerf u will have only bows and muskets. Moreover how u imagine do it now ? I spend 100k for 3 purple items resilent and shriking forti. and bunch of shards wanna give it back to me ?

Physical aversion is alsk good to fill lack in thrust damage resistance good against muskets bows and BBs.

Nobody runs physical aversion though. Just use thrust gems and use shirk fort, you will negate way more damage.

2 perks resilent + shriking costs less than 5k / part so I dont see any problems. Well if someone wanna 3 perks BIS he must collect some gold :sunglasses:. Nothing for free.

mostly I have problems with bows and muskets who shot me from long distance. Musket works on hit scan so if he aimed u u will be shot everytime over and over. He can easily w8 you dodge, and shot u again. Shriking Forti us good for melee in close combat aversions works better if u avoid it.
