I almost feel like they’re doing this on purpose. They merge all the servers to max pop to force people to have a lot of lag/desync/queue times then they open new servers that you have to pay to transfer to. There’s no way to get past all this lag/desync without spending more money. I almost feel scammed at this point. I can’t play the damn game I paid for because I can’t control my character and constantly crash/lag out. Coming to the forums to share this with them obviously isn’t getting us anywhere. They just increase the server capacity more and cause more lag and issues.
Yesterday evening, EU Central was completely full, with 6 2200/2250 servers at full capacity for 4/5 hours straight, with 500 to 1500 players in queue on each server.
We are speaking of 13000 simultaneous players, with around 4000 in queue for 4/5hours.
Keep in mind those numbers are actuel people rolling.
Waiting time was beetwen 30min to an hour.
EU is packed, transfer is NOT an option.
They anounced a brand new empty server, that will likely absorb 3000 new active players.
Long road to normal situation is ahead.
I know, im on EU central aswell, I did comment about it in a post before my second “great news”, but I deleted it because of the new servers coming.
Yeah its not enough servers to help the queues, but as I see its a start, even if the new server will just decrease the queue time with 20min or so, its something.
I agree with you, they need to have more servers.
Lets have a happy feeling for today and say it will handle the new players flux.
I’ll be back with anger this evening when I’ll be stuck in a hour long queue on a one year old dead game.
My husband got home from work yesterday and was in queue so long that he gave up and logged. It was MUCH longer than 20 minutes, and kept showing him at different points in queue.
He’d finally get to 1, then it would reset him to 38, etc. Rinse and Repeat.
IMHO, this is due to merging the servers prior to announcing that new content was forthcoming.
I’d like to see them open some of the merged servers back up and allowing folks an optional transfer. Once the new content is released, queues will only get worse.
I wanted to check New World after 10 months break and I can’t because of queues. I didn’t have choice where my character will be merged so it is on Nysa EU which has 1,3k queue right now.
It is hilarious how Amazon didn’t learn from launch and it isn’t even expansion launch time. They lost to queues and servers once again.
Thank you. Not an ideal solution for a lot of players but yeah if you want to be like Ubisoft by putting band-aid over an infected wound rather than going to the doctor and getting it treated, be my guest. Don’t understand how ZeniMax/Bathesda can manage the playerbase so well with ESO within a limited budget and you can’t with ‘Amazon’ out of all backing you.
Also, if I have to pay to transfer to a different server as some comments suggest, lmao, forget about it, I’d rather not play the game than spend real money on anything besides buying the game.
merge servers because of flow players due to bugs and exploits, unbalance and problems in game… NW lost huge percentage of players… now when they (those who gone away) want to come back plus many new players interrested in checking this AAA mmo meet a WALL… 0,5-3h long Wall… I play this game since its beta relise so i can call my self a fan of NW - casual player but still fan… untill now, when i cant play, because devs made it so. i am loosing my good will for exploring this game… I had to change server once due to queues, and start with new guild and new friends but this choice were easier because of transfer free of charge. Now only one way to play is if i pay for devs fault with merged servers as there will never be more players… I havent manage to log in for whole week… I wait and,… as they say -hope dies last… I think i’m gona see if its true… queue 293… i have no time for this…
Cara, parte mais dificl do meu dia é logar pra jogar, estou a 2 horas na fila e não consigo, experiência está sendo pessima nesses ultimos meses desde a fechada dos servers no SA
Microsoft (owners of Bethesda/ESO) worth: 1.93 Trillion Dollars
Amazon Net Worth: 1.32 Trillion Dollars
That makes AGS the company with a more limited budget… ![]()
Regurlarly watching this :
Out of 17 servers :
- 3 new were not full yesterday at peak time
- 12 were full everyday this week for 2 to 6 hours, with queue from 500 to 2000
- 2 didn’t reach the max players cap
Population is rising quickly. There was no queue two weeks ago.
Weeks to come are gonna be hard.
Successive merges brought tens of thousands characters on the same servers. If old players come back (that’s happening at a slow rate those last weeks), Queues are gonna get bigger and bigger.
Nobody want to grind another lvl60 character on a new server, it’s way too boring to do in NW.
AGS needs a real strategy to DISPATCH players. Problem won’t solve itself.
Oy oy oy, news news news :
- 2 new servers for EU central seem to be on their way.
- max player cap has been raised for the SA East server to 2500.
- the queue timer SEEMS to be working. Now displays the right queue number (it seems).
Work is being done.
It’s late, it should’nt be necessary, but it’s being done.
EDIT :
Fae is under maintenance, pretty sure emergency allowed some exploit.
New servers disapeared.
There are 1200 people waiting to play on Nysa, which has been full for 14 out of the last 24h.
Hmm … 2500 something.
Yep risky will see how will be with server stability.
Please dont increase the server cap to 2500 unless your adding more resource nodes or increase the quantity from resource nodes. I havent really played at all this weekend do to the fact that I can run around the few places that have wirefiber or ironwood for hrs and get 300 to 500 pieces. With an server cap to 2500 it will be unbearable. Please dont.
All servers have been upgraded to 2500 max capacity. As we all understand the flagrant necessity of such upgrade, please, listen to the community.
This must not be a permanent upgrade, as the whole game is not fitted for this amount of players.
This game is fitted to be played with around 1500/2000 active players on a server. Allowing 2500 simultaneous players mathematically increase the number of active players to around 3000/4000.
Numerous topics have been created those last days on this forum : resources, PVP and PVE content, server stabilty, …
This game is built on small balances. Don’t ruin them all in the emergency you created.
Fuck me.
Got merged twice.
Ended on this fucking monstrosity that Nysa is. (Mixing french, spanich and english community, brilliant idea).
1300 queue on a MONDAY EVENING.
As Ive said before numerous times now. Enough with band-aids. Its been two weeks.
AGS, you have the DATA, just read it. There is hundreds of players in surplus.
Set up servers, and a REAL migration policy.
We heard from people that migrated to FAE, only to end on an empty server with no economy with new players who reported them, thinking they cheated to be 60 that fast.
We finally have new players coming and old players returning, and they are already leaving again, without even playing.
By real migration policy I’m guessing you mean ‘free migration to a new server’. If so, I agree. Not many folks are willing to pay to transfer for a game they’re already frustrated with.
I’m pretty sure a single additional server for NA East wouldn’t be enough to alleviate queues of up to 627 on Castle of Steel (in my case), even if the maximum number players moved to the new server immediately. People want to play with friends and companies they’ve established relationships with. Coordinating a move for blocks of players is a pain even when it’s free and the new server can accommodate everyone, which isn’t guaranteed.
Expanding the size of existing servers is fraught with peril too. It can put strain on existing resource nodes and open world content which was not designed for the increased player base. A return to the bad old days of every Orichalcum node being camped would further increase frustration, not reduce it.
Any substantial incentive to transfer to a new server would probably result in existing servers emptying out and the new server becoming overloaded. Some small incentive like server-themed cosmetics might not result in such a crush, but that’s about as ‘substantial’ as you could go without causing a transfer rush.
The most effective player redistribution policy I can imagine would be to eliminate the transfer token requirement for the time being. A guarantee that all members of a company who want to transfer will go together would help as well.
My two cents.
