- What is your character name in New World:
darthInvad0r - What server/world did you experience your issue on:
Laputa - Describe the issue you are experiencing:
When Right Clicking an item in inventory and selecting ‘Use’, and then moving the cursor over another item before the action completes, the game will consume the item being hovered over, not the item that was used. - Is this a bug or an exploit:
bug - (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay:
i ate the wrong food and wasted some trade skill food - (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue:
given it used a consumable, no. - What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced:
Have more than one food in your inventory. Right click and use one of them, then immediately move the mouse over the other
Can confirm this one, I’ve seen it multiple times. It’s super annoying to waste valuable consumables - I have to pay to replace them, and don’t have them when I need them.
It’s easy to trigger as you barely need to move your mouse at all. The context menu pops up over another item so your mouse is already over another item.
I uploaded a video clip demonstrating the problem: New World context menu uses wrong item - YouTube
You can see that I try to use the Poultry with Roasted Potatoes via right click->Use. After I click “Use”, the mouse move a little, and the Wild Berry Compote under the mouse is consumed instead. I try again, and the Herb Roasted Carrots is consumed instead.
Thanks for the observation and report, I had this happen so often but never knew why, it seemed totally random to me until now.
