RIP Another EVGA 3090 FTW3

Ugh - this sucks. Frame Cap, up to date drivers, and a dead FTW3.
RMA here we come…

BEFORE anyone starts shitting on New World, EVGA stated that it’s a problem from their end (some soldering issues - you can search on google).

Now, I’m not trying to be a white knight or anything, it should not happen in New World.

Good thing that EVGA covers this, so don’t lose hope.

Mate… how is that beneficial to the issue ?
Its 100% new world causing this. Ive been in direct contact with evga over this issue when my first card went.
That was an old version.
My one is a newer version. Not having issues with the soldering.
Still the same issue.

Plus read through the forums. Read all the none evga cards having the same black screen + fan issue.
Thats the precursor to the cards failing.

Just because you read an article. Doesnt mean you know what you are on about. Lol.

Regardless of the card brand . New world IS the catalyst causing this.
They need to step up and find out what the issue is.

It’s not “just an article”. Watch JayTwoCent’s video (7) Testing New World with my RTX 3090 FTW3… Surprising results! - YouTube

Like I said, it should not HAPPEN (so of course, new world partially takes the blame), but it’s not entirely their blame.

i never said it was entierly their blame , i said its 100 % the cause , but its been an issue for a while now …its not fixed and its costing people money . they havent even admitted any fault . its not just evga . and jaytwocents tested ONE card lol . maybe you should just go sit there and beleive everything you see on youtube and ignore people actually having the issues .

no it shouldnt happen . nor should clowns like you try and be dismissive of the issue. even more so since all you are doing is regurgitating third hand info without knowing anything yourself lol

First, can you stop being so aggressive and actually talk properly?

Second, of course, they should’ve fixed that long ago, I never said they shouldn’t.

Third, how do you know what I know or and what I don’t? Can you guess what card I own?

if you knew anything you wouldnt be sitting there reposting useless youtube links champ lol

Well then, how did Jayz one not break, and mine did not break as well?

The fact that you have to ask that , shows how little you know or understand.

You cant be that stupid or ignorant :joy::joy::joy:

How the hell can I be stupid and ignorant? Again, you are being aggressive and you can’t make a point without making someone stupid and whatnot. EVGA confirmed that 1% of their cards have some soldering issues, hence the “new world breaks the gpus”.

It could’ve happened on any game really.

I simply said, before throwing all the shit at new world, think about the fact that 1% of the cards have a soldering issue.

It’s the opposite lol, you are ignoring the fact that EVGA had some gpus with problems.

Yes im ignoring the fact that my evga cards died due to ONE of them being the first batch… but the other NOT being first batch.
Also ignoring the fact that OTHER brand gpus are also having the same issues.

Im ALSO ALSO ignoring the fact that there is proof that the game is tripping the OCP on different models AND brand of gpu.

So yeah. Totally ignoring the facts idiot.

Just pretend you know everything and bugger off already , bloody mouth breather

There is no point in arguing with someone that can’t make an argument without putting “idiot, stuipid” in each sentence, have a nice day.

I set up my forum account to come report the same issue. Bricked eVGA RTX 3090 FTW3. Mine is the version with the hybrid cooler.

I played for a few hours with the card running hot but not dangerously so. Left the game and came back, but the game crashed in the menus. After the third time crashing the computer won’t finish POST and I get the red light of death.

EVGA says this is at least mostly their problem with a batch of boards that weren’t up to spec. That’s reasonable, and that said I appreciate that it failed now rather than later after I was out of warranty.

But at the same time, I ran video card benchmarks and stress tests previously that didn’t get the card this hot. There’s something in the code for New World that’s causing maxed out power consumption on video cards even in the game menus. If New World is the only piece of software including benchmarks that will melt down your video card, it’s still an issue that Amazon needs to work out, especially when there’s a card shortage.

Agreed. There’s too much damage to be coincidental

I played over 160 hours with mine using Jayz advice with a lowered power limit of 75% and all the other recommendations it still wasn’t enough to protect it from the extraordinary behavior of new world. I’ve tested this graphics card under extreme stress with programs like furmark which represent a real challenge to the cards capacity. New World bricked it during a loading screen when attempting to teleport.

If thats not enough, when I’ve been playing with my gaming laptop, it has a power brick which is rated for 230 watts and on occasion it has exceeded the safety of the power draw from the power brick, which I measured myself using a kill-o-watt meter that goes inbetween the plug in the wall. The specs of the laptop are well below a TPD of 230 watts even under extreme conditions and somehow new world found a way to trigger a fail safe which caused the power brick to shut off and my laptop functioned like it wasn’t even connected to the D/C power brick.

Thus, this issue is literally unique to new world in that this has never happened to both my card that was bricked, or my gaming laptop. No other program or circumstance has ever caused the laptop to suddenly think it wasn’t connected to the power brick, and based on everything we know, it’s obviously cause by some critical error in New World. It’s so obvious from all the testing that has been done now that I do not believe you are a genuine participant in this conversation.

this is what i don’t get, why does it seem the newer cards keep having issues? it’s not just NW i have seen it on ESO and other mmos, i am running an older card and have not had issues outside of server related. (i am using a radeon rx480, old card but still running nw on high with no fps issues or card melt down. Did they change how these damn cards are made?
