But what about those of us who invested time and resources into the these rewards that were just stripped from us? “Just suck it” I guess, right?
I couldn’t agree more. I was the first person to report the bug of “Plagued Heavy Strike” on mage weapons 2 months ago on the March PTR forums. I told them to change it to Plagued Crits and got no response. They clearly saw the report and filed the change for later.
They decided to ignore half my feedback and change them to Refreshing Evasion. I have no idea who chose a random armor perk for the weapons but whoever did shouldn’t be balancing weapons. They also decided to change the Plagued Crits on the void gauntlet to Refreshing Evasion for some unknown reason, probably because someone who doesn’t play the game mistook it for Plagued Heavy Strikes when doing the change. This mistake just can’t happen, and if it does should be remedied immediately upon report.
I pointed out the Void Gauntlet bug/mistake on the April PTR forums as well, in their bug report thread. It has only been noticed today after basically spamming the forums about this mistake.
Its fairly obvious this is an intentional decision to not give good Intellect gear from expeditions at this point. At first I thought whoever was slotting the weapons just didn’t know what perks would be good for Intellect weapons, but now it is clear to me it is intentional. The CM team isn’t being told why or what data is leading to this decision so they can’t really give us any feedback, their hands are tied.
I also gave them an easy solution for this whole problem. Change all the mage weapons with Plagued Heavy Strikes to Plagued Crits while at the same time fixing the Plagued Crits bug which prevents it from being applied to multiple people at once. People would be happy about this, yes their perk is still changed, but it is changed into Plagued Crits which is also getting a bug fix which makes it work properly and buffs it.
If the person in charge would actually check the forums there are great solutions to problems here, I am not sure if it is an ego thing or stubbornness but it is severely hurting the game.
Nerfing magic weapons, but yet not nerf to the great axe abs great hammer…… unacceptable …… please cm, don’t come with your generic what would you do statement …. It has been posted and posted and posted …. That slap in the face is common for every other weapon except some strength weapons ……
i think the frustration comes from mainly about the perk (refreshing evasion) u guys picked to replace Plague Strikes. Looks like to everyone that make ppl more satisfied was super easy and even with all feedback it was IN A FACT ignored.
im not saying u guys didnt passed the feedback… but nothing was changed after all the information gathered
Not all feedback will directly impact the game. However, that doesn’t mean we’re not listening or thoroughly discussing it. We have standing meetings every morning to discuss feedback/bugs and I am (when not in the forums) actively in conversations all day long.
So basically what you’re saying is that you gave the feedback to the devs, and they gave us the perverbial middle finger to it, even though a large portion of the player base was against the changes? Not really aligning with AGS’s goal of dealing with player friction.
To clarify, it means there are active conversations going on around this feedback and that while I cannot guarantee any changes at this time, we are discussing it.
When it comes to weapon/item nerfs/buffs, especially on pieces that people have been grinding for and spending lots of shards on, I would suggest that in the future maybe you poll the community to choose a replacement perk out of a list of comparable perks.
For example, refreshing evasion is nowhere near the realm of utility that plagued heavy strikes would be. I’d think you would choose something like plagues crits or maybe even a refreshing move if you’re trying to go the refreshing route.
All I’m saying is when it comes to things like that, at the very least allow the community to feel involved or give their feedback on a couple of potential options to at least make us feel somewhat involved here.
We understand that you checked a box saying you listened to our feedback. But this implemented “fix” should at minimum include a refund of the shards used on the weapons. Refund. Refund. Refund. If the fix doesn’t resound with the community, then the next stance must be customer service. A meeting saying we talked about it, doesn’t resolve this mishandling. This fix doesn’t work for the majority of your community, with the exception of the classes that laugh at the exclusivity of their free best in slot items.
Just another example of AGS hating on mages. We’re literally never allowed anything good in this game without it being nerfed, whereas nothing at all is done about the OP grav well that is ruining all group PvP.
I really like many aspects of this game but, having spent dozens of hours farming these weapons and tens of thousands umbral shards to level them up to 625, this really is the final straw for me. I’m moving on to another MMO that doesn’t constantly gimp mages.
Been preaching this over and over…but it should be with all weapon…for example max focus build with rapier…instead of nerfing by increasing cooldowns and hurting Dex players in the process…they should gave the abilities diminishing returns if not specced in the proper attribute spread.
That would solve alot of problems. Want to use a weapon that does not scale with your primary stat? Fine, but don’t expect certain perks and abilities to be as effective unless you have a certain amount of stat point allocated for that weapons primary/secondary stat.
And none of you guys ever brought to the discussion that INT users have literally nothing good to grind since launch?
While DEX and STR users have stuff like Lazarus Bow, Infamy, Fury, BG Weapons, Dryad Spear and im not even talking about jewelry yet, INT users have… a double perk staff? (firevine), it just doesn’t sound right, it almost look intentional to gut mages.
When you are discussing reported feedback and bugs on the meetings, how do you then prioritize which one to fix? For example if there is 20+ threads where some of them have up to 100+ answers about people getting upset with the change to the Blackguard weapons, and then you have one thread which only have one answer (from a community-manager) where someone is complaning about that you should rename something or some other trivial fix - How you hande this? Shouln’t a topic that your playerbase activly cares about have a higher priority to fix or to care about? Instead you rename Alchemy and Arcana-station to Arcana-station? Like who cares, honeslty?
When I read your patch-notes (I have read them all) its like 1% that has a meaningful impact. I get a feeling that you in many cases fix stuff that NOONE cares about, instead of actually fixing important things that your community wants.
The mods- and community-managers do a great job at writing reports, so don’t get me wrong! But its how the feedback is then worked with by the devs where the problem seems to be…
This is the same bs that happened in the Absolute Terror thread. ANOTHER INT WEAPON THAT WAS GUTTED.
“Active conversations are going on around this” blah blah blah and the item that was worth gold cab before the “rework” now is a trash item that no on even wants. The same will happen with blackguard weapons.
AGS STOP FAVORING STR USERS. WHERE ARE THE BIS INT ITEMS? THE GOOD ONES ALWAYS GET GUTTED. We don’t have weapons. We don’t have armors. “April Balance Patch” is so one-sided it’s not even funny.
well u already had fury so…
For the love of god, do put in more thoughts when changing perks on weapons that players heavily invested in. Just slapping refreshing or refreshing evasion on multiple weapons repeatedly is unimaginative and reeks of absolute laziness (remember Absolute terror? I don’t think so because it became rubbish). Respect the time and effort already put in by your players, if the game is to last long.
Just put plagued crits on them in place of strikes/refreshing evasion. Easiest solution, everybody happy, no OP mage weapons.
Here’s a conversation starter for your morning meeting then. Inform you’re balance team that these perks were the only way a Fire staff/ Ice Gauntlet mage had to do ANYTHING to the abundance of heals other players can get between Life staff, Void gauntlet, Leeching, and pots. Mages that used Void gauntlet inplace of one of the other two has a healing debuff… and it’s not at range. I play mage because I want to kite, not be right on top of some great axe user. Either bring back these perks or add some frickin talent that gives debuffs on our burn or something. I mean I have literally zero faith in your balance team at this point. How is it that yall have nerfed mages over and over again yet we have a blunderbuss with sword and shield one shotting players. You also have healers that are dang near unkillable in 1v1. Are yall even gonna be ready to produce a healthy and competitive 3v3 at this point?
AGS realized some weapons were ‘‘too overpowered’’ after a month and many players made them 625, bravo AGS you are really fast!! Same goes with tempest crafting ‘‘bug’’ which was EXACTLY same in PTR for WEEKS, there were even youtubers showing it as a new feature but AGS couldn’t realize it until the actual patch and everybody started exploiting it, BRAVO!! I always believed this game was going to get better and kept claiming people are wrongly exaggerating things like dupes which happened and happening in all MMOs but not anymore. This game won’t get better with this kind of ridiculous dev team and player base will get smaller and smaller while new world becomes a total laughing-stock. Well done, amazing job, gg wp…
