give ranged move more speed or more defence melee is way to OP after update

Ranged has been owning melee since launch. In most Wars and OPR melee is barely used. Now you want more cause they FIXED the problems and desync with melee? No buddy. Now you have an equal match. Learn to get better, we (melee) wont be fodder for ranged anymore.

I would prefer the removal or reduction of the pause bows have for instance while and immediately following shooting.

Using bow as an example again, bows are not just locked into the ability use animation. they are locked immediately afterwards as well. Firing Rapid Shot you will find yourself of course being stuck in the animation sequence. After finishing that sequence you will find yourself stuck in place.

I haven’t seen this in any other weapon I’ve played.

True or not this has no bearing on the issues caused by the upcoming patch.

That may be the case on your server. After being on three servers now I have not seen or heard this to be the case. This is an exaggeration in my experience.

Have you tried the PTR? I haven’t, but apparently the light armor dodge roll is still good.

As someone that did the PTR a bit, they are still easy to kite, Especially if you’re in light armor.

Don’t have to worry about trying to dodge and weapon swap cancel the pause animation while trying to avoid them.

You move smoothly…plus it’s easier to swap between weapons. Using musket rapier? Quickly swap for a fast fleche or riposte. Using bow spear? Quickly switch to spear for a quick sweep. FS/IG? Quickly switch to IG for ice shower or ice tomb.

Plus you wont be stuck to an attack animation. Can quickly dodge and attack…or dodge to cancel your attack.

If you struggle vs melee without their pause, then get good.

It’s really not some significant advantage like op seems to think haha

Ranges classes got Range, thats their advantage. if you are in close combat against a Melee player you lost that advantage and you should loose that battle. For wars and opr this might mean that players need to focus abit more on defending their backline but thats how it is supposed to be in large scale pvp. Go use a GA and try killing some ranged player in opr or wars that arent in light armor and die with 2 heavy hits and a stun, one missed swing and hes 50m away and you are dead before you reach him again. So this change with the rapier nerf seems pretty good imo. But there are some overpowerd melee classes like spear users that need a nerf, not all the melee classes.

Considering that melee even with charge abilitys get desync…the attack sort of get evade even when in melee.
Often happens with great axe and hatchet.

Ranged class got rapier, bow jumpback ability, void gauntlet 2-3sec root.
Range got tons of abilitys that can hold melee away for short time.

What? Most war boards have at maximum 5 bows/musket and the rest are melee, healers and IG/VG. You don’t have any clue on what’s the meta on this game

Put on heavy armor, problem solved.

They have to remove the slow/root after shot of the Bow to make up for it aswell

Ranged should be strong at ranged, melee should be strong at melee. You shouldn’t be able to kite for days and run away from a fight.

Musket has an OPed knock back and most ranged dps are musket users.

Ice/void are now melee….

This is a good change in theory, though I have yet to test it. Ranged should have more kite than melee have chase but if a melee gets on someone you shouldn’t just be able to W key away from them. All space manipulation should require intentional action and resource expenditure.

If they end up too strong melee weapons can be nerfed in other ways, but there’s only so many ways you can fix the current issue of melee being thwarted by basic movement, and the giga lunge method was awful. This is basically the only other option. The third option is a meta where melee fight purely through stunlocks, which would be by far the worst of the three.

The idea that ranged should be able to indefinitely out-distance melee is stupid. The past few months have been horrendously imbalanced in favor of ranged, and everyone knows it. Things like jump-shooting, indefinite kiting, and root spam should not exist in any healthy PVP meta.

Everyone should be prepared to fight in melee range to some extent. That means bringing a melee weapon of your own. Whether that is a Hatchet, Spear, Void Gauntlet, or Rapier. And not a full Grace tree Rapier. You should actually expect to use Rapier as a defensive melee weapon.

Have you seen the change? Have you played melee on PTR? Its literally not noticeable at all compared to live. Saves us .1-.2 seconds. All they did was fix a visual bug basically that looks like a stutter step. It will make 0 difference i guarantee it
