Riposte and defy death need something or more to counter it

I not suggest to nerf it , just make some skill can counter it. Like great axe Execute can ignore invulnerable, Hammer wrecking ball can break the riposte counter(maybe some skill like fireball or scream also can do it).
This will make the fight more tactical and fun. By the same time we also no need nerf the skill

*I’m full time bow user just want this game more fun not because I’m using G.A or Hammer.

We can see now a lot of built carry a hatchet or rapier , life staff + rapier(light) , G.A + Hatchet(light), musket + rapier, bow + rapier/hatchet , spear + rapier/hatchet , ice /fire + rapier.

Most of the time you see a whole gang people gang a people with rapier/hatchet and get kite by him like monkey. Basically They are more tank than Tanker xD. So we really need more thing to counter this 2 skill, especially rapier riposte.

lol defy death is countered by vg they can make u come out the ult , hatchet needs no nerfs. actually it needs buffs, biggest swing and miss weapon with constant desyncs.

This excuse is funny every time I read it. So every build needs to have a VG to deal with defy death ?

defy death is literally the last skill u even need to worry about in this range meta. if youre dying to hatchet idk what to tell you. you suck lol, you can actually w key away from hatchets ga’s hammers everything besides a spear. lol

You are ignoring the question and the issue. The problem is not the hatchet damage, it’s defy death.

Hatchet + rapier and Hatchet + spear will burst you down until they get low then change to hatchet and run like headless chicken with no drawback because they can. Add a healer in the equation and it’s one of the most stupid combinations team wise

lol right yah in between all the ig showers and ice walls, spears long homing range, hammer stuns, bows overtuned damage, rapiers infinite mobility if you let a 1hp defy death hatchet get away…

You can counter it with sns too.diminishing shield bash. Or like any DoT.

Keenly jagged can go on any weapon

Use oblivion on hatchet simple

hatchet at least got like 70 sec CD,
riposte should also be like taht 18sec is too low, should make it at least 45 secs like def stance in SNS.

Execute would be pretty cool if you could bypass defy death and riposte with it

Riposte is just too easy to use alongside it being too rewarding, it has zero skill to pull off and zero negatives for using it incorrectly besides putting it on cooldown which doesn’t matter because you can run off into the render distance until it comes back.

  • Riposte makes you invulnerable to damage and CC for a total of 3 seconds if triggered.
  • During those 3 seconds you regen stamina and ability cooldowns. Landing the stun grants 20% CD on all abilities.
  • 360 degree stun on everyone around regardless of the enemy trying to hit you or not.
  • Riposte is triggered by projectiles.
  • Enemy triggering your riposte is dodgeable but the enemy has to waste 50 stamina to dodge the stun. That’s 50 stamina that he doesn’t have any more to close the distance that you’re about to create.

Nope not if they pop any regen item after hitting you with 2-3k normal and ran away.

It should be. Rapier has what riposte and fleche while hatchet has root, defy death and berserk and probably has the most insane left clicks in any melee weapon.

Rapiers Riposte is fine. Without Riposte as it is, the weapon would become useless compared to all other melee weapons.

Rapier is on a whole other level than hatchet. Death defy is okay but nobody even plays the root anymore. Most builds run beserk and 2 throwing spells.

Rapier has the best mobility in the game, a dash you can use that also functions like a heavy attack and armor pen, A hop that increases damage and also gives you a Iframe while also allowing you to get stamina, then a 3 second immunity with a AOE stun all the while your stam is rebuilding and you can play it with Bow, firestaff and musket. yes hatchet has death defy but most teams have void gaunlets that counter it.

Rapier is the best secondary weapon in the game for bow\musket. Hatchet is not played as a secondary weapon they are completely different.

Every single match i play all the healers are playing rapier with zero dex just because the utility is just so good. Ill wait for healers to run hatchet as a secondary but i feel like that would never happen.

Its laughable that you would argue hatchet is even close to rapier in terms of balance.

No one says it should be removed. It just simply can not remain the way it is. Same goes for Evade.

if that was the case everyone would be playing rapier as secondary weapon and even mages dont do it.
how about blunderbuss rapier ?
never seen one ,
hatchet rapier ?
only one time …
spear rapier ?
hardly anyone plays that.
top spear players do ice spear.
rapier is weapon to reposition for a ranged combat .
everything else doesnt work vs good players.
