RMT Bots Report New Char

I’m not sure if it’s been discussed already but I was wondering if anybody knew how the report system worked?

Let’s say rmtBot1 spammed in chat and got a lot of reports for gold selling. If he deletes his char and makes a new char rmtBot2…do the reports still carry over? or is everybody essentially just reporting the same account with no progress?

I would think the reports would still exist for the account, but I don’t know for certainty. I think it would be awfully silly if they didn’t.

agreed. it’d be pretty silly but at the same time i don’t think i’d be too surprised if the reports weren’t account-wide at the moment

That’s an interesting idea.

Here my assumption was that the bots don’t get banned at all. Just make new characters because they know after a day or so everyone on the server will have that one blocked.

Do gold sellers even get banned and if so would they be able to just make a new account and start over. We’ve had the same bots spamming on plancta since launch from what I’ve seen (At least 4+ all day) and they do it non-stop and have not been banned yet. If they were actually getting banned then the gold wouldn’t exist since they would have to obtain it from somewhere, this would mean they have a main person trading them gold (Which amazon SHOULD be banning as well, but I’d assume aren’t) or they have some method for getting gold fast that they’re abusing. I’d hope that they look into where gold is coming from as well as ban these gold sellers as that would help put a stop to it, but without any confirmation or reports page, there’s no communication on whether or not anything is actually happening besides them stripping bad keys, this didn’t really do much as the gold selling is still rampant.

Well, whatever is being done, it’s not much. Two issues here.

First, there has been a gold spammer in the newbie area on my server for two days in the exact same place named “hberfurbf” or something like that. Obvious bot though. I had a hard time reporting it due to the way it was positioned, but finally was able to. The next day he was STILL there spamming gold selling in global chat. I’ve muted it, but the issue still persists. So why was this NOT addressed after two days?

Second, it was in a corner running in place against a way. THIS was supposed to be corrected by AGS where running in place still triggered the 20 minute logoff timeout. AGS said they fixed this but obviously has not. I watched this bot just run in place at a wall for between 5 and 10 minutes, then stop, back up a few steps, then run foreword in place again. So, they found a way to bypass the timeout AGAIN!

Something needs to be done soon.
