Back to the topic at hand, this is a good and reasonable take on where we are at with this game. It might not be that pvp isnt important at AGS, to be fair, but its clearly not the priority right now and thats very frustrating for people who came for what was supposed to be a compelling pvp experience. The game has a long way to go on all fronts and when I see stupid events like turkey terminator and easter bunny bs I just shake my head. Its becoming a pve paradise while pvp dies on the vine.

Yea,it is frustrating but like you I am playing the wait and see game. The pvp here has potential to be amazing but there is a lot of things that need fixing first.

The pve stuff they add is for the folks that do not pvp,but the dungeon mutations are helpful in ways.

In the meantime I will wait and hope that I have a chance in the future to bayonet charge some unsuspecting player or shot a cannon at someone. My dreams are simple😂

The game just came out 6 months ago and you expect it to have content compared to other MMO’s that have been here long time now. There’s just no way to please you… Tired of doing the same every day? Well PVE players are also. Do you see them complaining? Must be your first MMO, no?

Considering the fact that Mutators, Tempest and the anticipated Tempest Mutation are really the biggest new content features outside of Void Gauntlet and Blunderbuss, we can pretty evidently see that PvP has received the short end of the stick.

Rocky starts are what they are, but wasn’t Outpost Rush, the premier PvP(vE before Brutes were deservedly shelfed) game mode, broken for a few weeks on release? Dungeons were no better with drops staying at 500 GS for months on end, but at least people could experience them lol. Arenas existed and Invasions and Elite Zones were still a thing. Events are cool and vogue, but there were topics with major implications discussed like Expertise from Open World PvP that never came into fruition.

Certainly Wars are demanding of their attention at all times, but that only reaches a subset of the population whereas now PvP players will finally have some solid options on the table with PvP Arenas being released along with the Reward Track.

My first mmo…lol you are adorable. Did you even read the thread? If you did you’d know the “pvp update” misses the mark yet again. Our expectations are not unreasonable. They are based on the words of AGS themselves.

They added a whole end game grind on top of the end game grind in those six months along with three holiday events no one asked for so don’t act like they couldn’t have at least improved the gameplay around forts and flipping territory. Their one weak ass attempt at this actually made territory flipping even worse with a lower likelihood of pvp occurring. The flagging bonuses did increase opvp for a bit but they can’t crank that knob again an expect the same results. They are throwing us scraps while they throw the pve crowd a party.

For me its clear that they take wrong direction. Put more instanced PvE content didnt make player base go up, the fact is goes down month by month. This game, features, mechanics, combat is PvP friendly and PvE open world . Is SandBox Friendly Not themePark and they make effords to add instanced content and grindy for no reason instead of put features that have more impact in to the world, exploration and battles… Not only because this game need PvP and people running around competing for resources and world bosses and other features like random PvP chest, trade routes, may be a PvPvE dungeons etc etc is what this game need to feel funny and alive. Also because this kind of content is fresh and can be very atractive for Twich Casters to make game famous and make more and more people play every day instead of add grindy instanced content that this game didnt need.

Relax, the game is not pleasing you? Take a break, I did that, for 5 months. Came back recently and enjoying it so much more. Do the same until the game gets content that is for your like. You are not paying a subscription based MMO. Surely there are games out there that fulfill your needs right now :smiley:
Also for the last 30 days the game received a small bump in consistent numbers and reviews since launch. Surely something is working. Don’t expect changes from one day to another. Have fun! <3

This game need partial loot or at least some features or content that has it, because its designed to has it. All features are calling about add it. Market is being crab only for this situation. At the start of the game they make terrible idea removing entire outworld PvP non adding true Outworld features to ensure PvP continue being important funny and have a real impact . That make lot of people quit game first monts of the game and feel Twich views bored as hell. Also they start doing PvE outworld content like chest runs… that was ok ,but they stop there, instead of put new PvE outworld content they stop there, also they continue with non adding any kind of PvP outworld content and is clearly because they are totally lost how to manage the game. That fear of be a wannabe of WoW is blinding them and destroying the game.

If u have same sensation as me and feel that this game need a Mix Of PvP and PvE content + crafting and resource gathering that have sense all together in outworld like many other games like runescape, minecraft, ultima online etc instead of try to force a game that is not designed for this making it another WoW wannabe…---->
Like the OP post we can try to make AGS see that adding expeditions is not the way. They must add strong PvPVE content in outworld.

Sorry, OWPvP failed. It was quite a toxic testing time and AGS will not be going back to that. So asking for full loot will not happen.

Been there, done that, OWPvP players failed New World.

Yup! Assuming that this was a recent change in testing was absurd. This changes was at the beginning of all testing and failed to pass. The concept was so toxic and niche, it barely deserves any new features. Only 7% (possibly less) of the NW population triggers for OWPvP.

With who needs what? Their own actions (even the toxic ultimatums given in this forum) proven that it does not really need to be in NW. Besides, there are more demands for structured PvP and more PvE than any interest for OwPvP (by many times over).

IS the OWPvP crowd loud? Yes
Is it a huge population? No, OwPvP makes a single digit % of the PvP crowd as a whole. Even less if you take the NW population as a whole.

OWPvP in an MMORPG genre has always been niche and through time has proven that it is not needed to make a good MMOPRG that is also PvX. Two of the biggest populations are prime examples why OwPvP died out (WoW and GW2). Looking at WoW server merges, PvP servers merge more often than RP and RP PvP servers (there are no more PvP servers). OWPvP in WoW has dwindled to scheduled visits to harass a barely live quest hub. Nothing more. Within GW2 there is no OWPvP, It is all instanced and it remained that way since the first game.

Sorry, but OWPvP no longer belongs in a MMORPG genre. It is the reason why they excluded it from the genre and began implementing it as it’s own thing (battle royale MMOs).

Some ignorant people in this forum think that PvP is not important when almost all games most watched in twich are PvP ones. But well dream is free.
A game must be fun, no care about is PvE or PvP, lot of people that didnt like PvP come here blaming about PvP is not important. When PvP is the bases of an online gaming, E-Sports are about PvP and lot other prime Twich are non competitive PvP ones. In fact is more important than PvE. We have example how a MMO or at least an RPG online PvP means and make it very popular? yes, we have Minecraft with Full loot or old school runescape or Rust… Why some ignorant people says that PvP is not important? cause they only focus on WoW or Final Fantasy that are the MMOS that we had now a days. But is only that Now a Days.
The future of the MMoS need a change and lot of companys are focusing in a PvPvE world? yes we have blizzard doing a survival. League of legends focusing effords in a MMO PvP. Ashes of Creation . The Day Before etc etc etc. So people that seriusly belive that PvP is a niche … o boy open your mind and stop beliving World of Warcraft is all in MMO.
MMO is in continue change, online gaming is about PvP, because is where people interact. Counter Strike, Starcraft, Warcraft , Fornite, LoL, Dota , heartstone etc etc etc almost ALL POPULAR GAMES are about PvP . And like i Say the future of MMO genre will be the MMO that give a strongh PvP with strongh PvE together like best old school MMOS but with the technology and the new designs of now days.
But well some ones can say that PvP is niche . Niche in your world in the gaming industry NO.

OWPvP will not have any serious influence in the games future. BUt Structured PvP will flourish.

This article is the reason why OWPvP will not be more than a niche in NW.

Open World PvP will not have any serious influence in New World’s future.
Structured PvP has a place here.

Read My OP message …AGS said so many times they will put efford on open world PvP. The fact is LOT of people demands it. The fact is if it was really a niche blizzard was never start a survival MMO project, Lol Was never start a PvP open world Project, Ashes of cration will not exist etc etc. Say that open world PvP is not important in new world when AGS said so many times they will work to have a real impact and will work in a long term features to make it more important boy… stop rage and troll this topic.

Are true haters of PvP and they have fear that people that want PvP can do PvP and PvP will be more relevant. The think is its clear that PvP is the future of MMO insutry u only need to watch what projects are coming and the fact is more PvP will never make you worst in the game or prevent you do all PvE or craft u want… u dont like PvP? ok avoid it, do groups, ally with big clans in sumary interact with other people this is a MMO. Open world PvP is a niche and will remain that way in MMORPGs. You need to incentivize open world PvP to encourage others to participate. That scream very little interest in it. Not even the buff to luck is enough of an incentive.

So that being said again, this article needs to be posted, again, till you understand. OWPvP is a neat idea, but the community it brings is not.
