Fs/rapier is insanely good! You can literally be aggressive with flamethrower and nonstop push with fleche, have evade for iframe and riposte if need be.
Anyways on to the topic. The PTR as nerfed:
Jump shot on bow
Fire recovery
As those are the only things I tested.
My whole point is the game should not be skilled down because someone is cracked with movement or better at aiming.
Tbh I like the nerf to stamina recovery. It balances the fact that most noobs in the game spam stamina, pot, dash ability. Dodge some more. The running has to go. With the stamina nerf, if you use ur dodges to run, you will be easy to cc or slow etc… so it makes the combat more engaging. Thats why in my opinion its better even tho it sucks for ranged. But if you know how to manage you will be good. I never drop my stamina to zero. Stam management is what makes you a good player
I agree that stamina regen nerf alone was needed since live offert to much mobility. But if you add all other changes i think it will be to much. Time will tell.
Nope. I’m a Musket user and I totally agree with the nerfs to stamina. It works both ways - for the great axe player to catch you, he needs to run towards you. So that’s your side of the advantage. When he catches you, yes, it is harder to run away but that’s their side of the advantage. The loss of mobility just adds more skill to the game, it doesn’t make ANY side overpowered because one side needs it to reach the ranged players and the other needs it to escape the melee players.
While I fully agree with you, the thread is about something that was added in the first PTR notes and then either shadow nerfed or bugged after they messed with the Bow code last week!
So yeah, Bow CANT go live this way because this is one of the central reasons why It feels clunky.
Don’t forget that:
1- Fire Staff doesn’t have to ADS.
2- Musket it’s a hitscam weapon that shoots from another zip code.
3- BB is letal on short distance.
So it’s debatable if those weapons need it as much as the bow. But as I’m a supporter of movement and fast paced combat, I think every weapon having animation cancels and mobility is good.
Yeah, FS have more projectile speed and less project drop. Considering that it doesn’t have to ADS, it’s debatable if it’s vital to have the opportunity to sprint cancel after attack just like the bow was intended to have.
But I would support this idea. Maybe I wouldn’t agree if it was implemented on the BB - let’s be honest, the only way to be alive against a Bunderbluss on close distance is to kill it or run away. The weapon already have the best distance-closer skill in the game with the Hook, if it’s able to shoot you and outrun you, becomes too Op.
IMO the 1 second not being able to sprint after fire should be removed from all ranged weapons.
Please stop calling this the “root” though. Those were two separate issues. The “root” that effected bow was that you could not dodge or move after firing a shot. That is the root. (fixed on PTR last I checked.) The slow is what happens to all range weapons.
Meanwhile I’m watching a war where a BB / SnS Guy got 70 KILLS. (Btw he was missing both SnS stunt and still OS, grats AGS) This shit is busted and no1 talking about it
