works fine for me. I am also also using a 3090.
when I enable V-Sync I get constant 120 FPS
I usually cap my FPS to 60 to keep things as smooth as possible.
Things to try:
check the in-game screen resolution, mine was actually incorrect on start up…
MSI Afterburner (and enable the fan curves which keeps you cool all the time).
Disable overlays:
3.1. The XBOX Game bar (Windows Settings > Xbox Game Bar)
3.2. The nVidia overlay from the GeForce Experience app).
3.3. Discord Overlay (for New World at least).
3.4. Streamlabs OBS overlay (if you are live streaming).
Lower some of the graphic settings and determine if FPS is better.
NOTE: if you are live streaming, you should definitely disable the overlays mentioned at point 3.
You should my post at the most bizarre event which I am sure it is replicatable ingame. Everything runs fine except… If I look at a steady mountain/flag, lol.
I have no fucking clue why this is happening and if my card is throttling itself or why this specific angle is forcing the card to go in idle state.
Well, I’m not working for Amazon and I’m not a Lumberyard engine expert either, so I can just guess why such thing is happening, but I’m 100% sure that it is in close connection with vRAM.
Your scenario is actually could turn out as a beneficial one IF it would constantly work like that and as soon as there would be some action on your screen at that specific angle the GPU would start to turn on and render the view in max (desired) FPS - I mean if every time when we would see a featureless view the engine would give some easy time for the GPU to cool down and and with that save you a few coins not just due to your GPU life time, but also due to your electrical bill. Not even speaking of ECO footprint till gaming.
But this is not the case. Since we are having such scenarios in areas where the engine should be providing max frame rate to serve our gaming experience.
In the end of the day Lumberyard is a new engine. We can call NW a great test of Lumberyard and also a promotion of Lumberyard - based on the latest we can appetite high hopes, since Amazon will not allow to let New Wold paint a bad picture of their engine. They spent much-much more into Lumberyard than they did to New World
3090 3600x here 32gb ram, 70-80 fps when its good. down to 30 in cities etc when its terrible. Newer drivers actually seem slower than the last release from nvidia.
RTX 3080ti & 5600x 32GB DDR4-3600 - No issue here. See the card hitting 99% usage at 1440p. Most of the time FPS is around 160. I do see it dip in town, the throttling in town is likely due to the limit in place for how many characters are displayed at once.
On the latest NVIDIA Drivers there were released a week before the game went live.
be sure to change your windows power settings,
change cpu minimum to 100%, i had same issue, only happens with this game,
set it to 100% instead of 0 and it runs fine now, w as like 30-40 fps now 60-100+
have r9 5900x
3060ti
although, power usage goes up a lot, this game has lot of issues
I fixed this by using Ryzen Master to disable 8 of my 16 cores. I went from 30-50 FPS to 90-120 with my RTX 3090. HOWEVER, now I am getting the 3090 crashing issue because apparently it can’t actually handle that amount of FPS so I am once again screwed.
That did the job to me, just swapping to high perfomance fixed my issues, now i’m getting constant 60fps ( locked with nvidia ) and no fps drop
My GPU wont even go past 55° in high setting, CPU goes to 75° tho
I updated to W11 last night and this problem appeared! now I rolled back to W10 and the problem is still there, I get random fps drops to 20 in towns with the gpu only at 60% usage. In the wild it works fine at 100%.
Windows 11 seems to not be playing nice with New World and FPS I upgraded from Windows 10 and noticed a drop on FPS.I used to never go below 60 now I drop below 30 at times.
The game has been unplayable for the past few days for me. Running fine in the morning and then in the afternoon I get get FPS greater than 10 in game. Only 15-20% GPU usage.
I am on an older system, i7700k and 1080Ti with 32GB RAM.
Same happens here, I have a GTX 1050 Ti, its low I know but its better than the GPU Recomended to play this game, My GPU usage only reachs 30%, I also have and I5 9th Gen, and 16 GB Ram, it should be enough to play a little better than 9 fps, but not even updating drivers, or following the recomendations posted here helped ar all.
Is there any other solution?
I also have the same issue, my cpu is not as good as yours but 3080ti, i8700k @ 4.9ghz. CPU never tops out, neither does GPU but frame rate drops are terrible. This game really is in alpha state isn’t it? Such a shame as it has some great features but it’s going to be a LONG time before it’s my go to game.
