This will make switching between mutations and enemy types even more expensive, introducing runes as seperate slot instead of combining runes adn gems would have been a great move.

That would be a way to salvage the current implementation, and they can give us back an uncut gem of one tier lower while they are on it.
Get multiple sets or just use normal gems, its an expedition not PVP, so easier to predict and evade.

Just getting one set to 625 takes at least one week, considering you play m10s every day and already own the gear. Not something casuals like to do.

Casuals dont change gems weekly. Casuals have other stuff to do. And you can buy ward gear from market also. I did
Sure 2 perk ward gear, for around 15k, casuals do switch because mutations change weekly.
totally agree with this. While we can use normal gems for the dungeons, it seems a unnecessary limitation of the new runeglasses feature

Except for Genesis, a Mutation 10 takes +30min to 45min (casuals), you are saying casuals only do Dungeons?! If so, theres a bigger incentive to get more ward gear. And to be honest, you want a fire gem for fire dungeon, not a split gem.
Im not casual so I’m just wondering. Is this so important? I guess casuals just want to have fun exploring the world.
No one is forcing you to run runeglass just use normal ones

If normal gems get cheaper it will be even easier to swap them for different mutations. You don’t need anything else to run them

using the new scarabs > 2 set perks, ward + weapon perk/refreshing or shirk fort what ever u desire
Maybe let us use Umbral Shards to unslot gems from gear.

Yeah that is one of the strange features of the game if you salvage a roll your own ring with a gem and scrap it you get back a one-tier lower cut gem, doing a resocket does not yield the same results… interesting thing is that would bring down the prices of mots(which on my server the prices are out of control).
Depending on how the whole thing plays out I might just cut out running some of the mutations, and just run one when what I have matches that will work with what they are offering that week.
