Running point A to B solution

This is absolutely the most annoying part of the game, especially before you know how to farm Azoth and have Fast Travel pts, houses, etc.

Of the 5 people I started playing the game with, 3 quit because “I spend more time running back and forth than anything else.” This isn’t like a PvP or PvE complaint - it’s literally a giant waste of your free time to be running around.

Mounts are an improvement but still require 100% keyboard/mouse attention while brainlessly travelling somewhere far away, and again, new players would not have access to them.

Proposal:
Implement a “phase out run” where you can automatically traverse paths to places you’ve already been to. Be unable to be attacked or interact with anything and have character run at a faster pace than normal.

Control thoughts:

  • Penalty for cancelling before destination
  • Require Un-PvP Flag
  • Minimal Azoth drain

It sucks to see such a fun game platform turn people away because you’re literally wasting peoples time with uninteractive nonsense.

Or… you could set a way point to where you are going and run straight there following the way point. Gather along the way. Listen to some music, drink a frosty beverage, enjoy the sites. Spend even more time traveling but improving gathering and trade skills at the same time.

Yeah, get stuck on things constantly, be knocked over and have auto run cancelled by mobs, accidentally path into an impassable mountain and have to back track around it,

100% agree with frosty beverage.

Gathering is gathering, traveling is derp. 90% of the time I’m going somewhere stupid I’m alt tabbed on social media or playing guitar.

If that is what your doing while traveling; no wonder you have problems.

I understand your point of “making the most of it” but it comes down to objectives… I just walked 7km for first Yeti quest because I had low Azoth.

That was my objective - just to get it done - not stop every minute for collecting stuff.

Solution: Quit treating the game as a series of fetch quests and engage all the areas you’re in.

There’s fast travel close to almost anywhere you need to go, and resources to gather for crafting or selling on damn near every route.

A couple OPRs a day and you’ll never have Azoth troubles and now get the bonus of gypsum.

Welp, people that quit the game before “establishing the correct mindset” speak for themselves.

The birds eye view of the game from 60 is much different than leveling 1 to 20. Also you need to manage your weight at lower levels and many players do not know how to quickly craft what they are finding.

People that enjoy the game make the best of it’s annoyances - I’m still here - I enjoy grabbing crap, but I haven’t achieved the max level so I’m often “hoofing it” still.

Solution:
Add mounts and caravans like you should have done before you released this half finished game

Possible solution. Lengthen the quests. Remove the stupid crates. Send me out to go slay 50+ monsters not 5. There a whole lot less time percentage traveling between locations.

At 60 with 3 houses and OPR available, I do think the travel system is reasonable.

I also remember how frustrating and time-wasting it was while leveling up. It really is a problem when your fist 150 odd hours are taken up by “walking simulator” so often.

They put in 10% haste on roads because of this very complaint, but that is obviously a very minor improvement. I think mounts and/or reliable ways to get faster azoth while leveling up would go a long way.
