Sandworm hype Thread

Yeah it’s just sad that we have moved away from one of the games greatest strengths, it’s open world, and towards instanced content. I see why they walking back wars and all that but do not think it’s something to strive towards.

We had Turkulon and during the first days, we had some massive swarms of people fighting that. I do not think it will crash a server but performance issues likely would be a problem when we hit large numbers of players but I imagine it would be reasonable after hype dies down. A first step might be to test ones that do not require 400 people and maybe 20-30 so that it will rarely reach that number of people outside the initial release but often would die before it escalates too much.

I think maybe it depends on the size of your server although I think all of them are max capacity at this point haha.

It’s one of the fastest 2 gypsum for those looking for bumps, they got some really nice chase items, maybe not BIS but one of the best fire mage rings that isn’t crafted is dropped from Sirens. There are the guaranteed legendary schematics which are not half bad. Finally for completionists and collectors like myself there is the chase for the housing items which require a ton of runs (and still nothing here) haha.

I think the one thing they need to be careful of with a World Boss is the ability for it to be zerged. Its too easy to overcome anything in this game with pure numbers, look at the World Tours. If/When they do world bosses they need to make it so everyone who participates gets something and that it can scale to be worth fighting with any number of players, or else players will just sent the 300 out every kill and 25 will walk away with loot.

They can up the damage pretty good, or make it really spongie.
Can u image the hundreds of camps, waiting for it to spawn, each faction picking a safe distance, wipe after wipe.

Yeah I think thought needs to go into it, if it’s only rewards for 15/50 people the meta will be the highest possible DPS. No healing or tanking. Another alternative would be to have it so healing and tanking contribute to drop credit. The unfortunate thing is that, it’s really hard to balance here people will figure it the most optimal way to get drops and build accordingly.

Ideally you would just give credit to anyone participating enough to hit a threshold instead of a limited number of bags. Which is the system now.

Event boss, but still only gives a limited number of drops to players, not every player who participates gets something and if you participate solo you are more than likely not going to ever get anything. So its limited by the same rules that would hurt a true world boss fight.

Still think it’s too soon without getting the extra Brimstone Sands info from AGS which they will undoubtedly announce her.

Btw I told my wife all excitedly that there is a sand worm in the expansion and she was like… Uh Duh. It’s the sand level. Of course they have a sand worm lol.
