Saying hello and checking in!

well. lets be real if we take away all the bots idk if top 10 on steam is still achievable >.< but thats okay. even if half the people are bots i still enjoy it as much as it frustrates me. Welcome to the community though. good luck, hope you enjoy it an all that good stuff.

now no one cares about the 1/100000 who happen to like it, nice try tho kid. try using your brain instead of trying to sound cool

Hey! Glad to see the engagement.

I am currently grinding my stonecutting so I can eventually craft my own Gen and Laz orbs. Paying others to run the dungeons have put a big dent in the wallet so I have had to put my gearing on pause for now.

I do a 1hr loop of stone and lodestone to gain 3 or 4 levels. It’s kind of abysmal but what are you going to do? I can at least watch Netflix and YouTube at the same time.

Locking dungeons behind these keys is a really awful design and I can’t believe a modern MMO would ever consider a system like this.

The fact you said that only a small group of people don’t like the orbs has basically blown my mind. I cannot fathom why anyone would want this. Am I playing the game wrong? Am I out of touch? Maybe this game isn’t for me if I am in the minority. Really, I was speechless when I read that.

Anyways. Hope the fishing is going well. I am logging off.

I have heard of some people that do prefer the orb system but I think they are under the impression that the loot is better because of them, which might be partially true. I think they would likely nerf the gold rewards if it was free. I end up paying for runs as well and the gold often pays for the run more or less, but I just don’t think it’s casual friendly because you kinda have to do the math to realize that you can essentially do “free” runs if you ignore the gold drops. This isn’t always intuitive though.

I would venture a guess that a majority of people would prefer the orb system removed. I wouldn’t mind it on mutations but wish that the regular runs themselves did not require it. It’s fun content and took me forever to get into because I had to figure out why I was paying money to participate in content.

I usually when hosting myself just say, donate whatever you can and do it that way. Definitely make less this way but idk just doesn’t feel in the spirit of the game to charge people even if I don’t mind paying for runs because it’s a necessary evil. Also for connect I crazy free furniture for my server so I tend to skew on the side of being helpful for the sake of being helpful and not always trying to profit. Nothing wrong with that though, the orbs are tough to craft and it’s hard not to want to pay the host for their hard work. It’s just, why do we need the hard work to begin with? :frowning: Can’t we just work hard in the dungeon itself?

Just spent 4 hours trying to sort thru all my duplicate armor pieces and salvaging a whole lot of stuff that isn’t needed. Speaking of that…a folder system that we could name inside our storage boxes and place stuff in would be awesome. When you have STR stuff for one build and FOC stuff for another and INT for another and you need full set of armor for each build along with jewelry and weapons it makes it so tough to find anything in your storage. changing builds is a tedious task when it takes so long to sort every time you want to change. That would be super duper awesome!! Also, thank you so much for fixing the desync and horrible lag. It’s not great but it’s a whole lot better than it was. It is playable now at least.

This we will have to agree to disagree because there is nobody that thinks even with the current PTR changes the orbs are worth making. I would love to see a dev actually go to a high pop server and see how long it takes to make one key for say genesis. I am lucky to make 1 key every 8 or 9 days. It takes several hours to just get the motes needed not counting the loadstone because for every 50 you have on the map you might get one that’s harvestable. Now if you played on a dead server with say 500ish on then maybe you could get it done in a day but I doubt that even. I think your misinformed a ton on this.

Please create a poll, the orbs are nothing but a complete time sink. There is no “challenge” to acquiring them. You simply just have to waste hours and days of your time grinding to get make these tuning orbs just to enable yourself to grind for the real drops. The portals aren’t rewarding enough and you will open more chests without shards than with them. These orbs are just a pain altogether and keep people from running the content they would prefer to run. Consider getting rid of tuning orbs and make the loot tables from portals more rewarding in loot so there is still a reason to run them. Let people play the content they want to play. Don’t make them waste soooo much time gathering just to enter a dungeon. I have plenty of other crafting reasons to gather, I shouldn’t have to farm portals and gather to enter a dungeon. Just my opinion.

I am open to new ideas. If you use your eyeballs and read my post you will see I support umbral shard system but not how they plan to implement it. Stop white knighting… majority of the community has spoken and not happy with it or crafting tuning orbs.

I call a bunch of baloney on this one. Orbs are trash, and have GOT to go. Period. PvPers don’t need to go grind open world pvp for hours on end to craft an OPR orb just to enter OPR. Make it the same for us PvE players. Quit ignoring the absolute outrage this system has caused and the numerous threads on the subject.

Tuning Orbs, Gypsum Orbs, All of them HAVE GO TO GO.

Hello @Shadow_Fox

Could you please take a look about this post?

Thanks!

I disagree, although that I rarely log anymore, but 100k is a LOT for a supposed PvP game.

Whether players like orbs or not, you should play the game as it is, if you like it you stay, if you don’t just leave. The new approach of constant complaining and whining is something I’ve never seen before, the new gaming generation is so soft, spoon-fed and entitled. Unbelievable!

The complaints about orbs is not small. Its just under a pile of critical issues ontop of it. The orb problem in fact is the main issue for regular players like me who usually deal with the other bugs and issues going on. if you made a poll to “remove orbs” i think there would be 95% change it and 5% leave it as is now. I think most would agree of a cost but currently the cost is 2 hours of grind. And that is alot of work. If youd like topics in the matter id make 4 today if it gets the cost reduced.

Hey,

Do you think, dear Fox, I could get a reply to this >> [Focus Feedback & Bug Reporting] Umbral System - #245 by hellseesyou ? As it is kinda crucial for the economy and overall view of players on legendary non BiS items etc? :D.

Thanks!

I went back to ESO since I’ve read the Jan PTR Notes (the GS increase part). Maybe I will come back to check Feb PTR Notes or maybe I will be too busy playing eso/lost ark. Thanks for asking.
Also…

… thanks for making me laugh.

I don’t know of anyone that has any experience with MMOs that would like the orbs out of the game. I am talking about 100+ people here.

You don’t understand what free dungeon entry would mean for this game… you might as well ask for legendaries to be crafted at armouring level 1. It is the same exact thing.

Think before posting

im working on getting a 20k house ! slowly getting there . Can we pleaseeeeee get a barber shop so we can change hair colors and hairdos for gold pleaseeeeeee ill take that for now dyes later on for everything one step at a time .

Huge props to you all at AGS, given the lack of effort into certain areas and clunky overhauls it takes a good set of balls to open ask the community on their thoughts and take any feedback seriously. It’s certainly a step in the right direction after such a rocky start.

I feel the game is going to a better place slowly, I don’t think removal of orbs is necessary, but the costs needs to be further evaluated, or even scrap the chisel or make it buyable with just gold. Only problem is at the moment, both late game PvE and PvP players are repeatedly playing the same monotonous content. I know it’s hard to keep bringing out quality content with little to no flaws every month and I’m truly hoping mutations might keep everyone busy whilst you work on some epic end game content.

Other than the dungeon situation and how clunky PvP now is, I’d say you’re all on the right track. I hope you all enjoys the holidays, here’s a good year for New World!

P.S. Please add username changes, even if its a paid luxury like what Microsoft do with their gamertags.

@Shadow_Fox I wish you luck on your journey through this forum, this is certainly a step in the right direction hopefully a closer link to the devs will help get this game back on track to where it needs to be.

Currently not playing as my passion for the game and the frustration of issues has turned me away but I look forward to hopefully seeing great things from this to bring me back to the game.

yo welcome =)

pls announce the next wave of transfer tokens! That would help a lot to get back to the game. We r stuck on different servers. I’d really appreciate your help.

It appears to be in our nature to focus and linger on the negative rather than celebrate the good, which is a phenomenon that is on near constant display in these forums. While New World certainly has its fair share of issues that ought to be addressed (and I am sure they are being addressed) the game is – in my opinion – also a lot fun to play and has a ton of potential!

I am not saying that we should give anyone a free pass or that we should refrain from speaking our minds, but none of the games that we love to play would exist without the incredibly hard work of many, many developers, artists, game designers, etc. Reading the oftentimes callous posts on this forum sucks! Moreover, the way in which so many of us communicate feels, to me, horribly counterproductive! It detracts from what most of us want: for the game to succeed. How can we expect the developers of this game to listen to us if we cannot even muster the common decency to be polite and appreciative?

Creating a video game is a herculean effort and I, for one, want to take some time to celebrate the people who made this game and give them a thumbs up! I enjoy the game, and I am rooting for you guys to fix the issues it has and to create more cool content for us players to engage with so the game can grow and become an even greater success.

Go get 'em!

As for what I was up to in game: OPR!!! I mainly play as a healer, but I have switched to damage specs in order “to learn more about them” (Read: so I can counter them more effectively and become an even greater menace)

PS. It is really good to see a CM just checking in to see what we are all up to  I hope you had a great time playing the game yourself!
