Scaling Server Capacity

There’s only one solution that’s not going to further upset the players (customers). That is to scale the populated servers to meet the demand. Yes, there were many mistakes made with the rollout, like allowing too many players to sign in to a given server which could not manage a fraction of the load; not being ready to handle instant peak demand (although that should have been the minimum capacity capability).

Who wants to start over after leveling up? New World is comprehensive and intricate. The thought that customers should be encouraged to start over is the most terrible, awful idea since “New Coke”.

The existing worlds (servers) must be scaled up to meet whatever demands are placed on them. Amazon Games had the opportunity to manage that from the start and obviously fell far short of the mark. What does scaling a server entail? I have only the vaguest of idea. However, if players have to start over in order not to wait hours or days to login (and more than likely end up waiting anyway) … it won’t bode well for Amazon’s future titles in the works.
