This has been an issue since day one but now we are stuck with them in our character inventory not even able to move them to storage. How can it be investigated for years without a solution?

Yep. Returning player here who just came back to find this is still an issue almost a year after I stopped playing. That’s a sad commentary on the state of the game, and I wish I could say it is an exception.
I do understand how things like this get triaged to the bottom of the priority list for a development studio which has been in firefighting mode essentially since release, but they are constant reminders to the few remaining players that their daily experience of the game feels like it isn’t a priority for AGS.
Have the same issue with quest items that can’t be removed. I scrapped the armor I got from the quests, because they didn’t fit my build, and only got to know at the end of the quest chain that you need it in order to craft with the non-removable crafting items you receive. Come on now.

All of them without solution, without timeline, without help:

“A patch was recently put in place that restricts deleting quest items in order to make these not be lost for good. This is a known behavior that was actually a patch to items being delete-able.”

Well over a year? The game is only a year old since official launch
It’s 2 pounds. Lets be a little less critical and OCD. There have been 2000 hotfixes and patches to this game in the year aswell as rolling out tons of new content over the year.
Rebuilding a quest line system for an item that’s interconnected with other systems should certainly be something on their list as they stated, but prioritizing it over everything else? I’m happy to leave them there rather than them try to hotfix it, and it breaks.
I don’t think that’s a realistic request. People coming back to the game are looking at things like this and ignoring the absolute insane amount of things that are “actually important” and all the teams efforts into fixing them.
Being angry and saying the game is in a sad state over this is asinine.
Yes my bad, the game has only been out 11 months. It’s just that these 12 items have been bugged since launch if I remember correctly. Only before they were stuck in town inventory and now they are stuck on character inventory. It’s just annoying to be unable to clear after a run.
They are and have been. I’ve had them in my inventory since i accidentially salvaged the gear before making it.
I can understand from a programming perspective why this might be a pain to remove. I would just suggest reenabling the quest and allowing players to get the clothing again so they could be made and salvaged afterwards.
Obviously when these systems are built, there are going to be quirks, but in the manner of how their built could ultimately effect the entire quest line all the way down. While you can’t really call this poor programming, it’s more like some things being overlooked accidentally.
I mean how many critical updates does your windows OS get every week.
Patches are a byproduct of programming. There will always been the need to shift, adjust, remove and add to make things perfect.
The team is doing really good, it’s nice that the MOD came and explained that it is being looked into and it’s just a complex system to prioritize right now with everything else on the table.
That type of transparency is what matters more to me than the items in inventory, personally.
