Season 1 is gonna be about use light armor and kiting

Yeah. I almost thought it was a valid opinion

It’s a good thing you came along with your valued input. The record is now straight. You’re the hero we needed.

'I want to be a tank and also be able to chase LA users+kill them. Go light armor yourself if you wanna kill them but you won’t because it’s a riskier playstyle and you’ll get 1 shot.

The ones you want in this type of game.

They nerfed his ability to do that with the cc reduction. That was their point.

We all know heavy armor has very few uses for pvp. It needs buffs not nerfs to increase its viability. It should be be used by roughly 1/3 of the players as thats how often its gear drops from loot. Its probably used by less than 5-10% of the endgame aftive players.

It used to be viable in pve but creating the timed runs for mutated expeditions removed that too.

The games systems are poorly designed in that heavy armor doesnt have much of a purpose other than pve tank.

Not if I want to capture a point.

If you back cap it is. If youre with the main ball yes, youre right.

Solo players almost entirely play light armor now its not what I expectrd this games combat to turn into. OPR’s used to be a blast when the game first released and they OPR was turned on.

Nerf medium armor to be exacly in middle between light and heavy and you will see much more heavies used. It is that simple.

I do agree. I think people fighting on point and in clumps should mostly be in heavy armor. I think what the player base finds more fun they should work on that though. I’m not sure if most bruisers like being in heavy

I didnt myself as a bruiser. You dont gain sufficient advatages to make it feel like a compelling or satisfying experience. The trade offs arent enough. Heavy armor doesnt provide enough mitigation in pvp on its own. So yeah, agreed.

I used to do pve in heavy armor and hatchet to make because I didnt like being stagger spammed by mobs. Thats about all I used it for. Took it into one war as a bruiser and realised quickly that heavy wasnt the way back when the game released.

It feels like heavy armor lacks an identity other than for sword tank. If the dwvs want us to diversify our builds more intovheavy at some point it woupd help to look at the reduced damage it does for timed pve muts, and its immobility for pvp. Taking away the cc duration buff is a poor choice. Heavy didnt need nerfs.

Then why does everyone use light armor?

Who’s everyone? 3s are mostly won by med/heavy builds.

The bulk of wars are med/heavy builds.

The organized groups in OPR, that most complain about, are mostly med/heavy builds.

The only ones you really see running light are assassin based builds (usually involving dex), which are builds that focus on burst damage, and killing single targets.

There is a reason as to why heavy builds aren’t allowed in 1 vs 1 tournaments, on one of the most competitive servers on US East.

Light is about to take even more damage, especially with the damage mitigation changes and the nerfs to fortify.

They have repeatedly nerfed light.

If you’re still struggling, it’s a you problem.

OPR is 75% light at least. Arena is 2/3 light. I do agree the fortification changes are needed and hopefully balance things a bit more

Now i know why many heavy 150 con sometimes 200 con apply on my lobby as dps

This seems like more of an issue with the freedom perk than it does light armor, which I can understand. I’m not a fan of freedom. But I’m also not a fan of getting CC chained and not being able to play my character when I get jumped by 2 WH

No one wearing heavy amor should be able to outrun someone using light armor (if you wanna catch someone, it means you gotta be faster)

When a point must be held for what ever reason (opr, War, idk) whos gonna do it? Not the guy in light armor

This seems to elude a lot of people’s understanding. They want to eat a cookie and have a cookie. Complaining about not being able to get to a dex player with point control builds xD one too many hits from copium bottle.

A problem with heavy, medium and light armor the solution is that we remove these armors and we make more than one with an equal number for everyone of defense and with two dodge rolls for everyone and then it’s up to whoever has the best perks and the best skill to make the difference in combat and not rely on an imperfect armor system because there is no real class.

Honestly so fed up with heavy players crying that they can‘t catch light players after light got nerfed repeatedly for like 5 updates in a row. People wanting to be jack of all trades being able to catch everybody with ease, deal tons of damage and be super tanky, all in one build. That‘s not how the game works or should work though.

Possibly hot take, but light armor has never been overtuned, it has always been up to all the free haste, mobility and defensive tools on weapons like Bow & Rapier that makes light look ridiculous at times. Play a regular Mage build before Brimstone and it‘s already tough at times to get away from a lot of builds. After the heavyhanded changes in the Brimstone patch, it‘s sometimes practically impossible to get away from most melee players even if you play it perfectly. It‘s just dumb.

If anything the nerfs to the dodge distance when hit by a melee swing should be reverted if you plan to add any more nerfs to our resistances. But as it currently stands, asking for more nerfs is just ridiculous.

Overall they should probably just normalize the Equip Loads and add the roll dodge to all of them. Then streamline the bonus values and reduce the massive differences between light, medium and heavy, so that AGS can actually start to focus on balancing weapons rather than having to factor in the different equip loads with every change. If not adressed on a deeper level, the equip loads are always going to lead to balance issues.
