Damn Lux is slackin yo :stuck_out_tongue: grats tho thats really cool

Will these be 3 sets of gear that you character has the ability to equip at one time?

Or is this a Gear Loadout system where you save a loadout, and then load it, but limited to 3?

As the first would be a good quality of life improvement, and the second is going to not go down well if the price is not incredibly affordable.

Most active players have at the least the following:

0-5 Refining sets
0-6 Crafting sets (plus 3 major trophies)
1 - 3 PVE for World / Questing / Luck / Acid Pools / etc sets
0-6 Harvesting sets (If you include fishing it could be more depending on the fish).
4+ PVE Ward Dungeon sets as tank, healer or DPS (soon to be 5+)
1+ PVP sets ( I am not going to even try and count the averages on this one, but most have at least 1 set).

So even on the low end you are asking players to have around 5 sets, which makes the 3 that you are offer for “free” seem like a bit of a slap in the face.

On the high end I know some people have (and many who plan to have) over 50 sets. So if the plan is to sell 1 slot for something crazy like 10$ … please take it back to the drawing board.

Don’t expect the community to support AGS if they go overboard with greed on this one.

only 3? Thats wayyyyyyy too low. I have something like 20+ gear sets on my main. Only 3 is awful if you don’t pay. You have at a minimum 2 gear sets each week per mutation. Sometimes 3, especially during a laz/BNB week (need AE, Ancient, and Lost). Thats only for 1 role (ie. DPS). If you play other roles, it goes up incredibly more. This doesn’t even factor in if you PVP, craft, gather, etc.

This is a core functionality that this game depends on (especially considering how many gear sets hardcore m10ers will want).

IMO this shouldn’t be monetized at all. We’re starting to get into the pay to win discussion. If you speed run m10s for leaderbords, this is core functionality you will be disadvantaged on if you don’t buy more slots. I’m down to pump more money into the game to invest in continued development of the game. I will be buying battle passes/expansions, just don’t lock something as important as loadouts behind a paywall.

@Aenwyn - to understand this statement:

This is a reward from the free tier.
I will only be able to earn this slot during Season 1.
If I miss doing Season 1, I will never be able to get the 3rd slot.

Is that correct?

Why do you guys insist on this two steps backwards for every step forward approach.

Like 3 sets? And one is locked behind a grind. Why even bother.

You legit have us forced to change gear sets half way through dungeons because ancient ward and lost ward are different.

is the plan to offer 1 more set each season? So we only have to wait what…2 years till we have a set available to save for each dungeon and PvP.

Insane.

Everyone I know that plays New World has all the refining/crafting/gathering sets, at least 1 build for all different pve type and multiple pvp sets. How did they come up with 3? Seems extremely too low for this game

The loadout manager is just that, a management system. It’s not supposed to be used as extra storage or to store all possible sets of gear you can possibly think of.

You have the ones you use most often or for that week. e.g. I will be using my first three sets for:

  • My luck set
  • My main PVP set
  • My tanking set for that weekly mutation (let’s be honest normally one mutation is chosen out of the two for that week so the odds of switching are very low)

If I decide to wear a different gear set for a few mins to craft/refine or I decide to do a few game modes in a different build then I will just grab those gear sets from the relative storage shed where I store them.

If I have more slots available then I can store more yes but for the most part 3 is more than enough for most people. It’s supposed to be just to cover the gear sets you switch between the most often.

Oh wait just saw they plan to make more available for purchase.

Surely a joke.

Cosmetics and battle passes are one thing but to make people pay for convenience that should be an intergral part of a game that relies so heavily on different armour sets.

Like…could not think of a better way to make your player base (that remains) angrier than they could get.

I don’t care if they still count the loadouts as part of your storage numbers, that has nothing to do with this, I think most of us were looking for loadouts to manage sets, not just to store them. Many others have explained why so many more are needed.

If you find 3 to be sufficient for your needs I feel you will likely be in the minority, but lucky you. Not everyone sticks to 1 class/role or 1 mutation or even a mutation with a single ward.

Only 3 slots?
First 10 minutes of the game-
Daily crafting is 5 changes of crafting gear.
Gathering is 5 changes of gear

We are now up to 10 changes of gear just to craft & gather

THEN
combat…
dontwannagothere
Lets just say gear for weapons and armor for open world pve, expeditions, pvp
Is 25+ sets.

I’m not gonna lie, I can feel your pain in this message as a dev lmao. YOU know that 3 slots is not enough. You guys hearin Aenwyn? Make sure the higher ups hear us loud and clear once the PTR drops

Guild wars 2 charges appx 4-5 dollars per loadout past the ones you get for free.

2-3 gear sets really just moves the gear management issue over one place. What we’re getting is a couple of dress macros.

This will not address the primary issue that many players face, which is the mess that the current storage system is. We don’t really need 30 odd dress macro gear sets, 2-3 would be fine. We need a better way to sort/label/search our stored gear so that we can easily find it and slot it into our gear sets.

spoken like someone who just got to 60.

We’ve been dealing with your lazy coding all this time suffering through a horrid storage system, you finally come out with gearsets and now you want to limit them and charge money? Disgusting greedy behavior, the kind that kills games.

Ib4 people spend a ton of money on these and then every qol that is added we get charged for when they should of been in the game to begin with.

Almost 2 years from the game release date…this feature is legit the 1 thing every has wanted since beta…yet keeps having mentions of it…where it seems like it is nowhere in sight.
3 Sets is dogsh1t…especially for people who preordered the game before release date. this is sad and pathetic…now i see why this game can’t ever hit over 15,000 players WORLD WIDE…like that is just beyond pathetic…but actions exactly like this game turned out as awful as it did

That’s true, even I don’t do that. I think you read what I said wrong in almost every sense. Why don’t you try again, perhaps you will understand if you read it another time.

The gear loadout is a management system to organise and quickly change between gear sets. It’s to make it easier and less time-consuming with searching through storage chests for the gear set we need for whatever activity we are attempting to do. I doubt the gearset management system will count towards storage capacity as that wouldn’t make any sense, I imagine it will be a completely different system which is not tied to storage chests.

3 free sets on release + the option to buy more gear set slots seem fair to me and can easily manage your main PVP role/gear set, chest run gear set and the weekly mutation gear set for your main role. Extra gear set slots will be available to purchase if you require more slots to save time, failing that you can simply change the gear in the gear slot to whichever gear set you fancy using for that day if you are so indecisive as to what game modes/roles you want to play.

I think people are looking at the gear management system all wrong and thinking of it as a way to store all gear and possible gear sets even for builds they have only worn once and never plan to wear again. It’s to speed up switching between your main gear sets, if it’s a set of gear you only wear for an hour, once a week or once every 6 months then that gear set can stay in a storage chest, it doesn’t need its own gear set slot.

You can only wear one set of gear at a time and you can only do one game mode/activity at a time. If you find yourself doing more mutations than PVP in a day/ week then your gear set slots should be based on that. If you find yourself doing only PVP but you like to do a few mutations once every couple of weeks then I would suggest basing the gear set slots around pvp and keeping the mutation gear in your storage.

If Laz and Gen are in the weekly mutation rotation and your 5 man only plans to do Laz or you only like to do LAZ via group finder then your gear slot should be for Laz, You don’t need to store an angry earth gear set in your gear set slots if you are not planning on using it that week.

I hope that has cleared up any of the confusion you had and solved your issues. If for some reason you just can’t help but switch between gear sets 1000 times a day or week then by all means break out the wallet and buy as many gear set slots as your credit limit can handle and be as lazy as you can possibly be, as that 10 seconds it takes to grab that gear set you use for an hour a month from your storage was clearly too much of your valuable time.

Becouse amazon need make.money ;D so thei starting milk money from every single aspects of the game ;D
