Why am I interested:
We transferred to Uku Pacha a server that used to have 1.2k population, which is now dead - 300 at peak. We came from Aukumae which was dead.
Now we’re stuck. I highly doubt we’re an edge case. This server has barely any PvE dungeon groups, barely any OPR pops. What would you like us to do at this point? PVP wars are a snore, with such little players it’s always the same gang.
Question to Amazon CMs
Server transfers are a working functionality. Why are you intentionally holding this? Are you aware there are people literally stuck on dead servers with no tokens? Atleast make this paid. This is actually a question I can’t figure out your business strategy.
If Server Mergers are not working, the longer you fiddle around with trying to get this to work, the more people in this situation are going to quit.
The image below is messaging from a few weeks ago. Is there an update? Do you have a date or is this further delayed (reminder this is functional framework - business strategy is delaying it)
Yes the announcement for a new wave of tokens was made, essentially a back hand slap to the dying servers like Uku Pacha… Server merges seem just not ready and the system for tokens are already live. No need to wait AGS! Let us transfer out of dying server!
They addressed one of many other problems that happened with the tokens.
Servert transfers are a 2 weeks band-aid when everyone moves out from the server your company moves to. Many also move to exploit and ruin other server’s experiences and are wanting to move out because after ruining the new server, the originals from there fled away.
That will happen again, server transfers are no messiah for servers of low populations. They need to do the merges soon and find a way to address world sets that cannot even fill a single 2k server.
Biggest issue is there are plenty of players that are not playing, upgrading settlements because they are on low pop servers and they rather keep hoarding gold for the transfers than spending it when they are losing the territory
Put the tokens in the store already. Make some money and solve a problem at the same time. If you’re worried about people server hopping too frequently put it on a 60 day cool down like Faction changes.
It really sounds like they just drag it out to actually put tokens in the store for money since noone gives a fk anymore about community since that partly died over the last 6weeks… Ppl who still login just wanna play at this point. So anyone who’s on low will transfer, guilds will transfer, and rest is going to be forced to transfer XD
Absolutely hilarious. They don’t have to do anything for a month. And then get double the money cause we have 400 servers which are almost empty xD

My server had edged up to medium when transfers went in. The major loss was from transfers. Made worse because we had 1 day where Outpost Rush was viable.
We still have a number of new player creation, but when people hit 60 and see what content they are locked out of too many transfer for our server to recover.
If they do transfers again, they need to make them to a list of servers that will remain post “merge”, Only give tokens to the low pop servers that will disappear in a merge, and have new player creation locked on those servers. Set a date for the servers to close, and after that point the players need to be given the choice of servers they want to move to if they haven’t transferred by that time.
At launch?
I only played WoW but server transfers were a long time after launch.
The population isn’t stable enough to have server transfers yet.
They caused more problems than they fixed, and the fix was in the game already, create a new character with your friends on a less populated server.

Worst case they could just add 1-3new servers after merges and give people the fkin option to transfer or buy transfers for cheap due to the mess they made in the first place

Agreed this is literally AGS stuck on some internal bureaucracy, theory crafting with no precedence.
If your server mergers aren’t ready (that is not a fault of the playerbase) you need to allow for server transfers. Server transfers are working functionality.
Holding players hostage on dead servers without a choice is not the play here while you go into Christmas break with IT/change blackouts.
People over the Christmas break actually have time to play games. Those on dead servers will look for other titles.
You are now going to force the hands of people who strictly crafted (didn’t watermark) to go watermark for your new changes. How many Myrk/Pirate/Siren/Mines/Pools/Gen/Laz runs do you think happen on dead servers?
