But the main thing is that, with this contract, resources were transferred to this craft. So that the task of the crafter is to only craft what is specified in the contract.
Eh, I’ve never had issues with people trusting me. Perhaps stop scamming people and they’ll trust you more.
But why? Is that strictly necessary? What if the goods were held in escrow by the game, and a crafter could “claim” them as he made the item? Then the item would go back into “escrow” and delivered to your storage?
Yes, this is also possible and necessary. The main thing is that they would implement at least something similar, which would make it possible to sell the crafting service.
I don’t have such problems either!
This is not about the circle of players with whom you communicate. It is not possible to communicate with the entire server. We are talking about other players whom you do not know or who do not know you. I would like to provide crafting services to absolutely everyone. It’s about crafting service.
And how can such trust appear if a person does not know you at all. And there can be a lot of such players.
I mean if people on your server already know you, they could vouch for you. Trying to waste dev time by making up some crafting trust system seems like the very last thing they need to worry about.
We simulate the situation. For example, I am a solo player and I have accumulated resources worth 10-40k gold. But I didn’t work in a profession, crafting, because I don’t have that many hours for it, but I want to dress normally. And I go and give the first person I meet with resources for crafting, and he throws me and then I suffer with support explaining that he threw me and I need to prove it … Why such crap ?? You can just make a contract system and raise the morale of many solo players (overwhelming number of players).
Or you can just stop scamming people. Like I said, I’ve never had an issue even with complete strangers trading me stuff. One time I bought a 550g item and the other person said the gold wasn’t showing up on their screen. I told them I’d just directly transfer it to them if it doesn’t work and it was fine.
Discord literally has a share-screen function. If you want to be reputable use it. Most New World servers have dedicated discord servers in addition to faction specific servers and company level servers. Twitch is another option. It protects both the crafter and the buyer from claims of fraud as well.
There’s plenty of ways for reputable crafters to create a safe and reassuring environment to sell their wares, just be a little creative and stop waiting on Amazon to make more bugs in an effort to cater to what should never be a problem in the first place.
Never needed to do that personally, but the option is there for the paranoid population.
The buyer of the service joins a party with the crafter, who activates the table. With the crafter’s crafting levels, the buyer can use their own gold and materials but the crafter’s skill.
Attach a Charge-on-Creation option for the crafters. If that amount changes, hit the buyer with a double tap notice (no excuses then). Items never enter a trade window, the service is conducted basically like an NPC would do it. The only scams that could take place would have a warning before. Both players should be locked in while crafting is taking place so there’s no shenanigans around mid-craft ditching.
You wanna eliminate chances for scams? Then do it, dummies. It’s 2021, this isn’t terra obscura anymore. There are boatloads of examples to just about any system improvements, it just seems they don’t dive very deep for research.
If you are a crafter of my level (all trade skills) and tried to sell crafting services in the global chat (by messing with it), then this does not work that way. Try it and see for yourself. Many crafters on my server agree on this. I screamed for 13 days in a row with an interval of 10-20 minutes with 12 hours online every day. He offered guarantees, to control the process on the twitch stream, they vouched for me, but all with one voice - what if those who vouch for you are also in cahoots with you … Because the entire server cannot know each other - especially solo players. In short, it all does not work as you write. Only acquaintances will trust you hard-earned resources. Therefore, the question of creating a contractual or other system is being raised! In addition, I have been in communication with other crafters who are trying to sell crafting services via chat and the story is the same - they are disappointed.
It has for me. I do it for strangers, company mates, everyone.
Not the experience I’ve ever had. Everyone I’ve dealt with usually adds me for future work on things they buy, too. It’s a great way to gain trust / socialize with other players.
Well, play with more trustworthy players?
This is not about you, but about a comfortable game for many other players. Especially solo players and casual players. If you succeed, I am glad for you. But that does not mean that many others do this.
I mean, everyone on my server does. Our guild has some of the first maxxed players for most professions and everyone uses them. It’s fun building a reputation and people coming to you. You should try it. There’s lots of social interactions.
I realized that you are so cool. And I saw your point of view. I would like to see what other players think.
I really like your idea.
I did this in another mmo. I sold my crafting cd’s for a fee. There is no problem with that. I have a service and someone is willing to pay for that service.
That’s what I’m talking about. Many MMO games have this, I don’t understand why in this game they haven’t done it yet. We need to involve our friends in this discussion, who support the addition of such a mechanic to the game, so that the developers would hear us.
now it is possible to create an order for the purchase of a thing with the necessary attributes and perks, is it not a production order? and so the price will simply be reduced to 15-20 gold for pressing the button to create an item
no, it’s not the same. we are talking about the fact that the resources would be provided by the client himself. and craft man, using the client’s resources, crafted what the client ordered by paying for the crafting service.
