With regard to the current system of tuning orbs, which I have spoken out against many times:
Players are now charging 1000-5000 coin to use their tuning orbs for endgame dungeons. As tuning orbs are BoP, it begs the question, is this against TOS?
AGS has made it clear that they do not want players making large sums of money in game. They are banning duplicators, and even taking the auction house offline along with all monetary transactions anytime someone as much as sneezes. If there is a chance that coin is gained from non-traditional means, the game grinds to a halt. But what about players literally gouging other players by selling the use of their orb to run the in game dungeons.
I reiterate my stance that tuning orbs are a bad thing and should be removed from the game because they limit pve play for those who wish to run dungeons.
What is or should be happening to players who knowingly sell what should not be sellable? Are we going to see bans for players who are making several thousands from other players who need to run content?
Tuning orbs are hard to make. Not everyone wants to grind for a tuning orb. Same way not everyone wants to be a crafter and would rather buy the stuff they need. If you want to run dungeons and don’t want to pay for it then go grind your own tuning orbs.
Your comment is full of assumptions and missing the point.
Tuning orbs are a crafted item.
Voidbent armor is a crafted item.
Both take time to farm up resources to produce. Why should one be able to be sold and the other not?
NOTHING in the game stops you from crafting the orbs (other than Laz.)
This is just an attempt to try and justify your position that there should be no orbs. The game, imo, is working as intended and rewarding those that put forth the effort to produce the item.
No one is selling tuning orbs. You can’t sell tuning orbs. You can’t even sell a spot, cause you can’t place a dungeon spot within the trade window.
What actually happens is that people decide to send you money, and you decide to take them to your dungeon, which is entirely reasonable.
But the fact that we have to pay gold for pve content is pretty asinine. The game punishes pve players and incentivizes pvp. Why not take orbs out of the game? When i saw people selling spots for orbs, i quit the game. Its disgusting
They sell it because there is an extreme grind and or cost to make them. Why should one player incur that? They might just as well hand you a piece of void armor and say have a nice day.
Yeah I thought the same thing, I hate this sort of thing, its the result of a dyeing population and more casual gamers not being able to find groups to run them. I am not sure why orbs are BOP instead of being sellable tbh
The cost is stupid, there is no way on average you get the value out of the dungeon if you pay 2k to go into it, especially with no guarantee of actually finishing the dungeon, I am not sure how this service actually works, they holder starts the dungeon then leaves group and you are on your own or are they actually offering a “carry” service, for Genesis for example it really does need 4 organized experienced people to complete it
My point is the mechanic is pathetic which in no way insinuates i dont want to grind for it. So many white knights… I feel the dungeons should be instanced, like in FFXIV. Please spare me with the " Go play ffxiv then". Im using them as an example.
I feel dungeons, OPR should queueable via a menu like in ESO. But this isn’t the same game is it? New World wants to make sure the best loot is locked behind expeditions that you must grind for. it is what it is.
why we cant queue from OPR from anywhere is just weird, having no dungeon/opr que/group finder is also very strange, again I suspect things that would have been included at launch if the game was actually ready
Or maybe make some friends? Friends that can craft for the entire group or idk join a company? if you paying randoms for their work then that’s on you. Either go grind for it yourself or enjoy the fruits of someone’s labor by paying them.
They want us to run around the map to invest time in the game. ESO is all about convenience. You got mounts, free fast travels (even to places you’ve never been by simply teleporting to a friend), and queues directly from menu. But at the end of the day it’s different games.
So solo players now HAVE to make friends to enjoy content. I completely understand your point. I really do. But the MECHANIC is bad and it has pushed thousands of players from the game. The number speak for themselves.
