these premade groups will often be against each other, and they can get steamrolled too if the healer is on the other side. you wont notice because you will still see some of the names on the opposing team.
people say there is no skill gap in this game, which is just wrong.
Go into any opr and watch randoms doing god knows what and falling back on any pressure.
There is such a massive gap between those who know how to play group pvp, and those who have no idea (hint, those are the ones who are complaining about ga/ig and usually use bow)
How many healers are running SnS and heavy? How many times do you see a sacred ground pop on top of another sacred ground? imagine what the builds look like on some of the other not so noticeable weapons…
At some point players just need to admit they are bad to get better, or they need to implement MMR
@Mardigan thanks for your feedback and transparency! We’ll make note that players like yourself want separate solo & group queueing for OPR. We’re always looking for ways to improve the game and we find these comments helpful.
@Punty We appreciate your feedback! We’re always looking for new ways to improve the game. We’ll pass your feedback to the team with the report that has been created. Thanks for your time!
this is so true lol. so many shit players playing shit builds with shit gear just going in opr wasting a team slot. the funny ones are the ones in heavy armor that take more dmg than medium players. they probably queu with luck gear and pearls or something
If 40 people sign up and 15 of them are in 5 man teams the game decides the easiest way to get the 5 people in each team together is to just put them on one team. Bacially it organises the 5 man premades first into teams then backfills any solo sign ups.
Thats why you have 3 premade 5 man groups and 5 randos vs 20 randos… its boring and uncompetitive gameplay.
I’ve been on premade team and the rando team, its boring both sides, premade u just stomp the other and rando its just get 500 points and afk coz u cant beat 15 man squad on coms with pocket 625 healers. Every game is 1000-200/300, would end quicker but premade side just farm randos at sun coz normally they have 4-5 healers while randos have 1 in light that gets ganked and they don’t take the last point even tho they can easily.
No one can tell me that this is a fun experience for either side in opr, its boring, i want competitive pvp, not rofl stomping games every match.
In my opinion the problem isnt really about premades its more about the other team members.
If you play against premade teams they are usally pvp players.
But you will end up with pve guys or low gs guys. I saw some guys with firestaff / sword and shield or spear / lifestaff + shield. And they got totally face rolled by meta players.
Even 99% of the pve healers are useless in OPR. Because most of them arent able to escape and all what they do is placing a sacred ground.
Problem is the game puts 2-3 premades on the same team every game. Every game is a 1000-200/300 stomp.
Played 2 this morning already and both games were a wash out with 1 team winning 1000-300 in both coz of the premades. I spoke to the guys on my team and there was 3 premade 5 mans on it, and for them the matches were boring.
Problem for everyone at the moment.
Either balance the premades per team or make separate queues. Otherwise opr is going to be bland and die out. Hopefully the 3v3 arenas may draw the premades out from opr and into that but will have to wait and see.
Another option that i think would be really good is a join as army, 20 man group. So you can do a full company group opr vs another full company group. Maybe have leader boards for company wins etc. I would 100% watch top companys fight it out in opr on twitch as well.
As it is the only PVP mode wide available on the game, it is quite important that it have separated queues for groups/solo. (It is a lesson learned by other games, like League Of Legends)
The win-rate of pre-made groups is quite expressive, and get it even worst when multiple groups join in sync, allowing to have multiple guild groups on the same game.
I think they could balance the number of premades per team. If 4 groups of 5 players join the lobby, 2 groups will be placed on the blue team and 2 teams will be placed on the red team.
The big problem is team compositions. The life staff and, to a lesser extent, melee determine who will win the game. Since you can switch your gear and attributes on the fly, AGS cannot balance teams based on weapon class unless they remove the ability to change gear/attributes during OPR. Otherwise they could balance the life staff, so it doesn’t have such a disportional impact in OPR.
I dont even see them as the issue tbh. I think the much bigger issue is the pve players coming in and just doing some simple farming for enough point for rewards. Those players are the worst and much more of a plague to OPR
i don’t mind them if they keep doing stuff, like buying battlebread and zypher cakes and chucking them in storage… but the ones who hit 500 and afk are a plague
Nah some fights you literally need all hands on deck. That means those “I only PvE players” usually make those fights a total loss. Those players are and will always be a plague to that game mode.
