Have AGS team mentioned this anywhere? If not could this please be lifted in a future dev update how they see regarding this? I mainly play pve myself and would love to see more weapons viable in this mode.
I also guess it would be almost impossible to tune weapons for pve and pvp without separate tuning for these two game modes since it would either break one or the other modes. Would just be fun to actually be able to play anything else except melee in pve. I think this is a major concern for the game where only a few weapons are ”allowed” in pve by the playerbase since many of the range weapons are trash as of now, and while we seem to be getting raids in the future this type of balancing seems kind of urgent?
Have they spoken about this in any way before? I might have missed it but cant seem to find anything about it.
Why only pvp balance, sounds stupid when they have the possibility to balance for both modes and make the game better and more fun for everyone? I dont get why you would want it one or the other ways when we should be able to get both.
Sadly reality tells otherwise. Alot of weapons are not used on mutations due to balance issues. Seperate balance would help both worlds to make more fun for people.
I think it’s on AGS to either split weapons in PvE and PvP or make them viable in both. And, to further, future weapons should be designed with that in mind.
Yes, but making ranged weapons viable in pve would break pvp i assume since their damage output in pve would have to increase by alot thats why i think separate weapon tuning is the only way forward if they are going for raiding and make group conpositions more interesting than now
Correct that’s why people are calling for a reworks of certain weapons because they will never be viable in their current state IE musket… personaly don’t want weapons removed but rethought to make sure players who want to play musket or any weapon have full access to content.
They discussed the possibility of having different rule sets for different game modes. I got the impression it’s on their radar, but not something we are likely to see for some time, if at all.
Of course you can but it isnt fun, and you make the group worse by using a musket for example. And i am also considering future raid groups and content in the future where as of right now all players Will demand melee weapons since its 100% more effective.
Why on earth u would want to do expeditions with Musket ??? This weapon should never be used in expedition.
All the others are fine, just not that single target pew pew.
Bow, firestaff, musket, ice, blunder are all bad weapons compared to melee weapons even tho ig can be used on group in lost mutation but thats kind of it for that weapon.
The point is making those weapon viable with separate tuning, like the musket aswell which is terrible in pve.
Yeah ideally it needs different balancing but I believe it’s a decision of AGS as it helps with the immersion of the game. Bow is BiS in eneadand usefully in Dynasty, musket is completely useless in pve.
But if you consider war meta or OPR meta different gamemodes have different preferences and this is something they like by their statements so I don’t think separate balancing is in the books for the near future. Maybe if they add a ton more weapons in the game they reassess.
