Well im not AGS im just some dude so I could be wrong but I’m probably right. And I feel you, im still not BIS I only pvp, watermark is 510 average but done over 500 opr matches easily.
So what you wanna farm bis gear and then never farm anything again . I think mmorpg games are not for you .
The experience you want is closer to an fps or a battle royale.
can you tell me whats the diffrence between just adding better items and increasing the gs optainable? both makes the old items less valuable and both add more power to the players.
also just adding more diffrent perks does not make the game better it just gets confusing FAST (just have a look at Path of exile)
I dont know and honestly I dont care. I just raised a question about, I suppose, a valid issue. It’s not my job fix this. I just want developers to see this post and think it through, if what I’m saying is okay with their vision for the game
but there are no other solutions. EVERY game does it that way as the game looses reason to do stuff if its useless. you have to progress in one way or another. adding content without adding an incentive to play it just results in rushing it and a annoyed community as there is no new content. you need to strech it. and as you can see in most mmos its higher gear and easier optaining of the old one so new players can catch up.
I personally think if they increase the overall GS, it’s way too soon. The game is still going through a lot of growing pains and a ton of people haven’t even reached the stage where they can start increasing their expertise. Another issue is that the game’s balance is already pretty unstable and adding even more stats and perks into the mix would instantly erase all previous efforts to balance.
Honestly I think all they’re gonna do is adding weapons that you can upgrade on a weekly basis and that are only good for mutated dungeons. But if they’re not they have to be super careful how they approach this as people have invested hundreds of hours grinding and crafting to get the gear they currently have.
Most MMOs have that treadmill, which makes current gear garbage and you have to farm it over again. And I hate it!
If they raise GS cap, it would be nice, to have an opportunity to upgrade your current gear to that new cap. Imagine rolling that Bis perks after 1000s crafts or getting Bis names at laz after 100s of runs and some weeks later, it’s garbage…
But the content right now is so easy. That means the current cap is enough for months of adding new and harder content.
I am sorry dude but that is a normal mmorpg loop , better gear will always come , more lvls will always come , new territories will come , new gameplay features will come. If you are against such loop u better find a lobby type pvp games like lol or cs: go , whatever fits your likings more.
I’m in the same boat as you OP. I am hoping that they go the route of gw2 or ESO with horizontal progression. It is much more appealing to me to get the best gear for multiple weapon combos than to keep having to get higher and higher gs.
I actually expected this game to go this route because of the class designs and the “no alts needed” thing, but I am starting to get worried because it doesnt seem like they know where to go with the game, and raising gs is the easiest option i guess…
If they do go the gs treadmill route, i guess i’ll go back to eso or gw2.
It’s a normal loop but the game just came out 3 months ago. This cycle is already too short to raise GS cap, especially if it’s the first cycle at launch and that time was spent leveling. Also, half of the time the devs spent working on the game was fixing game breaking bugs.
I’d say wait a bit longer and let the game stabilize.
Thats kind of how the majority of MMO’s work. Item levels get raised and old gear becomes obsolete.
If I remember correctly ESO was different, gear stayed relevant expansion to expansion. But the norm in MMORPG’s has always been that high end gear eventually becomes obsolete.
By June, I bet gearscore will be increased to 620. Nothing was announced so far, but if I were you, i’d get as much coin as I can before that happens.
You can’t expect to sit on your power for too long in an MMO. It’s tradition to get progression reset or something equivalent.
