Serious Question: Why do bow/muskets get +accuracy but mages do not?

As titled, this has never made sense to me.

Firestaff / IGs do less damage than bow/musket on its light/heavys and have no accuracy bonus or leeway/hitscan of any kind. Landing these autos from any decent distance is incredibly difficult. Why does the physical range get an advantage over the elemental range types?

Are you referring to the +accuracy perk that is found on bows / muskets?

I’m honestly not sure why you want it, there was no noticeable difference when I tested with vs without it. Maybe it’s a bit like luck - just there for psychological / moral support?

regardless if the perk works or not, there is still absurd hit scan available from physical range by default, especially from muskets. FS/IG users have to have 100% accuracy to hit a target with light/heavys

Well the musket is perhaps another argument, but i’m not sure how the bow comes into this?

The bow has a smaller projectile size than a fire staff, and also drops off with distance. I’m not sure but i also think arrows move slower too?

nah they dont move slower, not sure about the drop off either. if arrows do then only at extreme distances. distances a firestaff cant even reach. firstaff heavys also take considerably longer to charge and light attacks projectile size is not bigger or smaller than arrows.

I could be wrong, and I only have minor bow play in duels, but it feels like bow has some small hit scan, just much less than the musket.

arguments also could be made that physical ranged also requires constant supply of ammo to be relevant. you run out you best be switching to your secondary.

nah it doesnt, you have to lead your shots even in relatively close distance. what makes bows hard to aim with is that if you are really close to your target it you cant trust your crosshair because the arrow comes from the left and if the target is rly close it doesnt have enough time to travel to the middle where the crosshair is. meaning you effectively have to aim abit to the right of your target to actually hit it. stellar mechanics as we are used to from AGS by now.

There is no such thing as a small hitscan for any weapon. The shot instantly damages what is under the reticle with no actual projectile or travel time (hitscan) or it fires a projectile.
Which brings to mind that a +accuracy on a hitscan weapon is pointless and wouldn’t do anything anyway.

Nah, arrows start dropping after about 50-75 yards. Anything over that, and the bow user is aiming above you.

This is because the camera angle isn’t right behind the user. It’s at an angle…

When aiming a bow you draw the string back towards your eye. When aiming a musket your eyes are looking down the barrel. Hence the increased aim. Your vision becomes more focused and acute.

When performing magical attacks your not holding your ice gauntlet to your eye or looking down your fire staff. That would be ludacris, blocking vision, and decreasing accuracy. You may even freeze your eyeballs or set your hair on fire.

Last time I tried to hipfire from my firestaff, I ran hot

Mages weapons do not require ammos.
