My server has reached such a low population that making money at 60 is near impossible.
We have (according to newworldstatus) about 250-300 people peak with about 30-90 lulls.
One would think this would make it a dream to be a crafter… but no.
It costs multiple coin PER T5 gear craft for leveling…
Where is that coin coming from? We get 2-4 Corrupted invasions spread through the day, so if we can make those… we get over 600 to lose that event.
OPR? We literally need 20% of our PEAK population to queue up to get a bare minimum map. (This is particularly bad on our server because we have little thuglets that came from high pop servers where gearing wasn’t difficult coming in and just curbstomping our server who could barely scrape together a Mal run at peak times…)
So… OPR is that thing that maybe happens after a War, and maybe on a weekend evening.
TL;DR, crafters are broke on low pop servers and nobody who needs anything can afford to buy it.
One can reliably sell about 200 Charcoal… at about .15 coin. Hurray for my daily 30 coins…
Pork? about .03 so for hours and hours of work, one can scrape out 100-150 coins… and craft about 20-30 T5 items.
The only people on my server with any amount of coin are the ones that came from others, and the ones who don’t level crafting.
I do not wish to be done with New World, I enjoy the gameplay loop… but I’m literally being driven out because I can’t afford to craft. There’s not enough people to do any end-game content, and nobody to buy materials…
(And yes, I’m considering leaving the server, though I’m waiting for cross- cluster transfers so I can move to US East. The friend I joined the game with, and the only reason I’m on US West, has already abandoned the game due to bug frustrations and end-game being crap on low pop.)
We may be even lower pop than you and, yeah, it’s a bit rough. I would definitely put a hold on any crafting until after a merge. I know it sucks but, as you know, the fastest way to drain your bank account is trying to raise a crafting skill.
There are a few bonuses. You can flag for PvP and go out and farm with a high degree of confidence that you won’t see anyone. The nodes are almost always available so that is nice. I am trying to get a little stockpile of asmo / runic /phoenix going while I wait for a merge and see how things come out on the other side.
I do have a few buddies I can make some chests runs with so that helps mix things up. Maybe try to find someone to duo with?
So you want them to RUSH a SERVER MERGE that can potentially lose them MORE players if they do it wrong just because a couple people are WHINING on the forums?
who said anything about rush? Is this a new problem? Did they just figure out they need to do this? How long have people been waiting and asking for this?
Unfortunately amazon is not bothering to let us know the progress. Every day more and more people stop playing for this reason, even so we have no horizon.
Mergers are critical right now, they’re bleeding players for a number of reasons, but one of them is because populations on so many servers aren’t viable, and that’s a self-inflicted wound on Amazon’s part. The longer it goes without mergers the more it bleeds.
