And that’s more important than enjoying the game better?
While I know many think the same, at first, but after a few weeks, knowing they raise so much faster and know the game much more, they forget it very quick. And they enjoy the game a lot still, because of that.
Are you assuming that I’m not enjoying the game? Transfers exist in games like this and so do mergers. It is what it is. Transfers are healthy for maintaining a player base that is dynamic. One server get’s out of balance, then folks can transfer and enjoy a different balanced server.
Why would you consider this solution then, to think it’s a bad one?
I was “this” close to do that, leave my account on the shit show Morrow became, then started my company, got great success in building it up, then the merge into Krocylea, and everything became fun again.
But, like many (cuz I have a few in my company), they created another account, and started fresh when I recruited them.
So, it boggles my mind that someone would tolerate a bad world and not create another account because of “achievements” or “non-BIS gear”. Sure, some exception, like a GS625 with BIS in every weapons/armors types. But they are… exceptions.
That’s the only transfer system that should exist. Don’t like your world? Create another account elsewhere.
Lol what?! You’re making a lot of assumptions my dude and not sure how your mind is so boggled.
Again, transfers are healthy and MMOs almost always have a transfer system.
I would like to be able to transfer more often and I’m sure there are more folks out there who feel the same.
You’re suggestion is limited because of the significant grind to reach end game and also you can only have two characters. My suggestion allows you to take all of your progress and take it with you onto other servers and experiences.
so why give everyone even on healty server transfer tokens because liked eden was fine till the new round of transfer tokens now it so bad can’t do nothing so sad now i basically have to quit the game because no one is do anything on my server and i don’t want 1000+ on server 700 is fine barley enough nodes on the entire map for 700 people anyway an no i don’t like pvp at all very broken atm no balance wat so ever in pvp in the game and i don’t like contest for orichalcum nodes when u level u skills effectively you have have have to use orichalcum for certain skills like engineering if u don’t use orichalcum u might as well quit or spend 2 mounts gathering for the last 60 levels
I think you’re fooling yourself if you think that new content will get people to return (and stay). We are five months into live, and there are still bugs, core game flaws, mechanics flaws, and balance issues out the wazoo. People who left didn’t just do so because the desert zone was not in, or blunderbuss – and they are not going to return and stay unless there are major changes to the game aside from a new zone or weapon.
Also its not as easy as just using your transfer token. example being me and my buddies were looking for a server to go to, made alts on that server for about two weeks and got to know people. NOTHING indicated ANYONE was leaving. so we used our tokens to go there and the big companies started all going to Orun. Now the server is unbearable and dead and we are completely stuck… you cant do anything at all
I think you’re missing the point entirely, or not wanting to address the underlying question; the issue seems to be that AGS is not being dynamic enough in how its currently managing its server player loads.
If your expecting a big resurgence in players after the next patch, then crack on with that get it on the servers and let’s see how much of a draw it is, on EU Asgard its gone from a reasonable rate to around 180ish a night after the mass exodus of players to EU Barri and EU Midgard so from a group perspective now hardly anything seems to be going on now on Asgard, its all well and good grabbing the available resources in anticipation of things getting better but there is only so much of that you can do before you get fed-up and don’t bother to logon anymore.
Communications the key tell the players what’s going on, what’s planned, and where we are going in the future, this seemingly constant “it’s all fine keep going” mentality is getting a tad thin.
Merging servers is a double edged sword. There are nowhere near enough high level resource nodes to support a medium-high to high population server. I hope they keep this fact in mind and add it to the calculus when considering merges.
@Kay
Do you guys also consider the fact there are nowhere near enough high level resource nodes to handle a medium-high to high population server when doing the math on what servers to merge?
