Server Merges, we asked for something and were ignored

You talk about server, yet not name yours. What was your server? I am very curious about your bias answers.

4 other servers were merged into Aaru which averaged 395 players before merge. You seriously think it isn’t a small server?

4 other servers were merged into Tir Na Nog which averaged 330 players before merge.

5 other servers were merged into Abaton which averaged 450 people before merge.

Are you seriously saying Aaru, Tir Na Nog and Abaton were “large 1000 players servers” before merge?

Funny you say that yet, we are seeing positive growth (4% but still) and recent reviews are up to 58% from last week’s 47%.

I didn’t know an average of 30K is dead. And people praise DAoC for having 2K and surviving.

So small Olympus server was merged into medium server Orun, what are you complaining about exactly?

That before merges combined at 6PM server there were 835 pop, after a week there is 655 pop. Player base continues to fall, also Orun was a medium/large pop peaking at 1250. Still peaks at the same ever after adding 250-300 player pop peak server. If mergers didn’t cause it, why did we lose ~20% player pop after only 7 days after merge? Also adding in that the game is discounted so some new players are joining, so even more veteran players quit….

Next you’re gonna tell me 655 is more than 835, and player pops are growing

People could have used their transfers, its usual after merges. We did that too when we were transferring off to Dry Tree. Around 1000 people from different servers which ofc lowered populations of our original servers by hundreds.

Did you talk to the 300 players that are no longer on Orun to see if they used transfer tokens? Lol using your own words against you assumptions

No, just like you. But you are the one making assumptions they stopped playing because of merges.

LMAO toxic? Who are the ones being hostile and name calling? Yes, you.

Your hypocrisy is funny though.

Sorry your server seems to be like that, but it seems like the truth is really what you see is an opinion. Your own. You are not the voice of all and please do not think that.

How you perceive the game is always going to be different than another’s. You being adamant about how it is is the mistake you made. Then when you began derailing with demands and toxic behavior, it did not help your initial argument.

Now that we are back on topic, we finally see the real problem. Your perception.

How is it assumptions when I/my company was a large part of Olympus server, we have Olympus discords. No large/small companies server transferred, so only individuals may have. There however were a lot of posts about players quitting because of merge… so I base my ideal off that, you’re basing you’re off assumptions.

Just looked on NWDB and Orun seems to be doing okay. See screenshot below, in the past 24 hours it peaked over 1200 players. This might not be when you are online but the server looks healthy and active from this perspective.

How do you know people from Olympus quit? Have you personally spoken to them or seen a post they made? Did they leave just for the this reason alone? It’s still early on to suggest people have left. It’s currently Easter break for many so could be holidays etc.

Going back to your original post you said about servers becoming high population. What do you call High population? When you say ‘We’ who are you representing?

Maybe AGS need to find the sweet spot so that everyone is happy. There was a number of posts on these forums asking for merges, they have happened and some people are not happy. There could be people from Olympus who are happy with this merge too?

And they are quitting by hundreds because you got merged into a medium population healthy server?

Orun peaked at 1200 before merging Olympus that peaked at 250-300 before merge. So for it to be still at 1200, we lost players that were on Olympus and Orun before merge.
Yes there have been quite a few player posts of quitting on discord, so that is what I base this off of. Also there are a few threads from before the merge of players from small pops saying the same.
Small pop- 0 to 450
Medium pop 450-1000
High pop 1000+

Good to see some numbers, it helps to understand the context better. Thank you  I would say that Medium was around the 700-1300 range as Medium suggests middle and the servers capacity is 2000 so the middle is 1000. Do you think that 1000+ is too many people on these servers?

Yes there was threads for no merges or how to merge (Such as low into low) but there was such a range of requests it would be difficult for AGS to please everyone.

I am surprised people would just quit from a merge, it’s been a very recent merge. We should also consider some may have transferred or simply not played. Burnout from the new content? Not to suggest what you have said is false either but there are many reasons for 250-300 people not being online.

So what is your main issue with the merge you have? Is it the amount of people on the server or the people that are in that server?

“Stop using numbers that prove me wrong!” FTFY

800-1200 servers is a good server . Pretty sure all gatherer / pver on small server are happy on Thoses servers ( guess what ? They make more money with their refining mats ) So it’s way easier for propels to make money ( I.e thick hide at 0.8h + infused silk 15g+) so they can after reinvest into BIS or close to BIS item. Also saying everyone on high pop is BIS gear is kinda delusional , most are not close

I farm all the regular stuff. Ori, starmetal, iron, Ironwood, wyrdwood, motes, etc. I have no problem finding spots to get all of these. What resources can’t you farm?

It’s getting worse… 16000 players at peak world time yesterday
