I cant find, any topic. Does ASG plan to increase servers capacity ? I think that 3k players limit would solve the problem.
It is awful waiting 1hour in queue, and u know u cant leave, u cant get dc, cuz if u got it u will have to w8 again 1 hour …

Aside from that, I find it funny that you are requesting larger server capacity ( not a hit against you ) because of queue’s, and others are requesting server merges because they say their servers are dead. LMAO!
This is what the free server transfers are for. Transfer off of full servers and populate the more baren ones. Just an observation.
Even with server transfers I support the merges. They ramped up capacity for 800k players at launch and now average 300k. I believe a capacity of 600k is a good middleground. Still plenty of capacity in case of a surge but low enough that the average percentage of players would be higher. Server transfers does help for some but I personally would like to continue playing with the server group I have while also having a bit more population.
Not sure why they need to increase server capacity when nearly if not every server is below max capacity. As someone stated this is what the free transfer is for. Unless you willfully transferred to a full server, in which case… Ya kinda deserve it.
My server can’t even reach 600 ppl at prime time Saturday afternoon. Lol
which is easier? contacting hundreds and populate dead server ? or merge world sets and populate those servers ? and we all know that second is much easier and reasonable
5-7k population servers and merge the worldsets.
There are definite issues to be resolved prior to doing something like this though. As ideal as such numbers would be for an MMO, let’s not forget:
- Scarcity of high tier resource nodes.
- Exclusivity of war and invasion participation on full servers as is, let stand with even more people on a single server.
- Potential lag issues with high density players / effects. Lagging wars is one thing, lagging like mad in cities because people want to be ‘funny’ is another.
On top of that, there is also just really the matter of server capability. The server hardware does need to be able to support such numbers as well. And certain design choices may be prohibiting this for now. Hence the small steps they’ve tried in server population increases.
Nonetheless, the 2500 mark does seem to work seeing as to how some servers have been (or maybe still are?) on this number for quite some time. So at least upping all to 2500 and merging low pop servers would already be good for now as a bit of a middleground.
1000 player queue on our server and getting kicked 3 times in an evening due to the Outpost Rush bug. I definetly think they need to do something to increase the numbers or not allowing so much to transfer.
During beta the following was done:
Low pop server merges into high pop server.
High pop server maintains territory control. Low pop server companies are financially compensated, I think it was 100k gold per controlled territory, but not 100% on that.
Each company would get cashed out for the territories they own before the merge, then the map gets wiped. Everything is back to grey, but the crafting facilities stay the same as they are on the host server.
