Hi to the Project and Infrastructure Manager/s of Amazon responsible for the New World game.
I’m not sure if the two of you are aware that there are extremely long ques where people, who had bought the game are trying to log on to be able to play the game.
Myself being from South Africa have no other option, as suggested by resent posts by Amazon personnel to try and log on to an more quieter sever and especially the EU region, as all if not most over 95% are over loaded with people trying to get in and play the game.
I cannot even try to log on to any other region, as the ping is of such a nature that it makes the game completely unplayable.
Everybody east of London in the “EU region” is trying to get into the game and that alone covers a very large percentage of people over an vast piece of land which makes for extremely long waiting ques, so much so that it would take somebody like me waiting for at least a week before i could log, in if you calculate the waiting time.
Then while waiting to log in, I found there is no server stability that would keep me in the que waiting, as one gets kicked pit of the que for no reason.
I tried sitting at the computer moving my mouse myself and still got kicked.
I do not foresee any significant drop in players trying to log in unless their frustration boils over to an point where they completely just give up on the game and move on to one of your competitors games.
and to those of you who might respond to this post, I have no affiliation to any other person or company for that matter, but am only a individual who like this game trying to play it.
and no the ques are not going to die down any time soon at least not for the next few weeks or even months.
Spending more to accommodate your customers and then ending up with expensive infrastructure after the rush, well donate it to a poor country that could really need it or sell it to those that need it.
My issue with this whole mess is that you the manager/s at amazon knew how many “games” where sold and if you did not you need to find out why.
You had more than enough time to compensate for the expected increase in interest, but either the two of you or somebody reporting to you messed up big time in the calculations.
Knowing all of this please fix this mess as soon as it is possible and open up the eastern part of the world to more servers.
I believe your own country has or am experiencing the same problems and this for me is just plain common bad management no matter how you look at it.
If you were working for me and dragged my company and name like it is being done now, I’d you know what.
