Server Size Vs Materials

I feel like the game is in a weird spot right now when it comes to the size of servers and the calls from the community to raise the cap on server size.

Queues suck. People dont like them, so i can see why people want the servers to be bigger, but gatherers are already knife fighting for every node of lodestone and Ori ore right now at this cap.

Yes BS will add more resources, but not enough to make it not feel like a fight to gather every little thing.

I think we need to really evaluate the resources on the map and determine how hard we want it to be for people to gather since nodes are not instanced (And I am glad they aren’t personally.)

I feel like it is too hard for people who don’t know the map well to really be able to just go out and farm their needed materials for the CDs every day.

I believe the devs add more materials without just adding nodes. Adding more themed mobs that drop resources would be a good way to add more mats. Also buff the wolves and bears that already do so now on the map.

How else would you creatively add more mats to a map?

I think the main problem is the lack of cross server interaction.

If they could sort this out then having to merge when population is at a lul wouldn’t be a thing and the overcrowded servers we have had recently wouldn’t have occured.

I think in terms of resource availability and balancing, this still needs addressing.

Responding to every resource post I see here to see if there can be some traction on this, but I totally agree that the availability is an issue. One user in another thread had a good idea of adding cool-downs to high-value resources, which i think could be a cool idea to make all resources equally available and would be great if done right:

Game was meant for PVP loot and losing some stuff at first so we were supposed to fights for nodes and territory and forts and even expeditions entrance with our faction against other faction and not teaming up with other factions …

The whole game make no sense anymore since a long time to please casual and PVE only players.

Per player instanced resource nodes; nuff said.

Whether you like it or not, this is the truth. Everything in this game was designed for PvP. When they pivoted, they didn’t change nearly enough things…
