ok, lets be realistic
a high end crafter levels refinement. I am sure you have max refinement if you make GS 550 items without materials, The availability and cost of other peoples daily craft limited items makes it such that virtually every high level crafter will make their own, and some will seek to buy others materials.
If your primary goal is to make money, its up to you to find the products people want to buy, and the price they are willing to pay. If they want your asmodeum, sell them asmodeum.
And some of those products are level 550 hatchets (which is very popular) muskets, Spears etc. Gathering potions, and yes, tools. If people are not interested in the value proposition of 600 vs 550 gs, thats fine, you can make both, if people decide they want starmetal for cheaper repairs, make that. If people want nothing, make nothing.
you don’t need to make weapons better than the 580 weapon quests, many players don’t do them, or will do them later. Some also likely want a decent weapon before then. There is a market for 550 items with the right basic stats, they sell. Every sale is a value proposition, its not that there is no other options, its that you present a better value.
The game does have the generation of wealth at 60 too low, but now with outpost rush, fixed corrupted portals, more people aware of the dailies, the money should be better. If they ever fix repair kits not working, and reduce grind for orbs, the money should be flowing
however, that doesnt change the design of a player driven economy is for people interested in making money to figure out what people need/want and provide it at a price they are willing to pay. The devs should not alter the game to make people dependent. If the goal is simply to give crafters money for items, player driven economy is not the way to go.
now I will say I don’t think a 600 gs tool is as expensive as a 600gs weapon, but thats ok. the fact that there is a lot less perks on tools shows they didnt want good tools to be as difficult to obtain. It also means your less likely to make a completely trash tool, Where as for weapons, not picking the main Stat is more likely to get you two/3 good perks
the fact is 600gs/perks is a luxury, its not needed, its wanted. price it that way, or just make money doing some other market business, there is tons of pent up demand and inefficiencies in the market
